WACO, Texas – Baylor begins Big 12 play this weekend with a three-game series in Stillwater, Okla. Against Oklahoma State. Games are scheduled for 3 p.m. CT on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Bears swept the Cowboys last season in Waco but trail the all-time series 37-34 and 16-13 in Stillwater. BU is 9-7 all-time in Big 12 openers and ended a five-game losing streak in such games last season with a win over Texas Tech. The Bears have won the last four three-game series against OSU and nine of the last 10 regular season series.

BAYLOR SPLITS WITH SAM HOUSTON STATE
Baylor split a two-game series with Sam Houston State this week, losing 4-2 in Waco before claiming a 4-1 win in Huntsville. The win for BU was its first true road win of the season as the Bears are now 1-4 on the road. The Bears received two stellar relief appearances by Crayton Bare and Josh Michalec. Bare posted a career-high eight strikeouts in five shutout innings on Tuesday. Michalec tossed a career-high 4.2 scoreless innings on Wednesday to pick up his second career win.
BAYLOR VS. OKLAHOMA STATE SERIES HISTORY
Baylor is 34-37 in the all-time series against Oklahoma State, including a 18-12 record in games played in Waco and a 29-24 mark during the Steve Smith era. The Bears have won the last four three-game series against OSU. Baylor swept OSU last season in Waco and won the final two games in 2011 in Stillwater to record its first road series win against a ranked opponent since 2006. In 2010, Baylor closed the regular season with a three-game sweep of the Cowboys, and in 2008 Baylor won the final two games of a three-game series in Waco. The 2009 series was split at one game apiece after rain cancelled the third game. Baylor has won nine of the last 10 regular-season three-game series against OSU. BU is 13-16 all-time against OSU in Stillwater.

Baylor is 9-7 all-time in Big 12 season openers. The Bears won last year’s opener in a 9-4 decision at home over Texas Tech, snapping a five-game losing streak in Big 12 openers and getting their first such win since 2006. Baylor is 247-183 all-time in Big 12 play.
