WACO, Texas- With the 2013 season in the books, 17 Baylor players have reported to summer collegiate teams across the country, ranging from Alaska to Virginia.
Every year, Baylor sends its players off to summer collegiate leagues to keep improving on their skills in a live-game atmosphere against some of the country's top talent. This summer, the Bears will have 17 players spread throughout 10 leagues.
Lawton Langford, Josh Michalec and Austin Stone will be teammates on the Anchorage Bucs of the Alaska Baseball League. West Tunnell will represent the San Luis Obispo Blues in the California Collegiate League. Adam Toth will be a part of the Wareham Gatemen in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. In the New England Collegiate Baseball League, Hunter Abbe and Duncan Wendel will play for the Saratoga Brigade. Jimmy Landes is with the Niagra Power of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. In the Northwoods League, Logan Brown and Matt Menard will play with the Eau Claire Express while Joe Kirkland and Bobby McCormack will be with the Willmar Stingers. Sean Spicer will be a part of the Albany Dutchmen of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. In the Texas Collegiate League, Doug Ashby will play for the McKinney Marshals and Mitch Price will be with the Brazos Valley Bombers. Representing the Front Royal Cardinals, Ben Carl will play in the Valley Baseball League. Grayson Porter will be a part of the West Coast League as a member of the Kelowna Falcons.
