WACO, Texas -- Baylor baseball's annual Burgers on the Berm event, originally scheduled for Friday, has been postponed until Oct. 2. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. CDT; admission is free, but donations are appreciated and go directly to support the Baylor Diamond Girls.
The postponement was brought about due to inclement weather in the Central Texas area over the past week, which delayed the start of the Bears' fall practice. Baylor, which was scheduled to begin fall drills last Friday, holds its first fall practice Friday at 3 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark.
An autumn tradition on the Baylor campus, Burgers on the Berm allows fans a chance to see the Bears in action and a chance to meet the players. The Bears will host an intrasquad scrimmage during the event.
Fans also will have an opportunity to see the Bears in action against outside competition this fall as Baylor will face Texas in a scrimmage Sunday, Oct. 4, at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin. First pitch time will be announced at a later date.
