WACO, Texas — Baylor baseball and Caritas-Waco will join forces for a food dive in conjunction with Sunday’s fall scrimmage against Texas at Baylor Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CDT. Admission is free.

Fans attending the game are asked to bring non-perishable food donations, which will go directly to the Caritas-Waco food bank. Specific foods Caritas-Waco especially request are canned meats (tuna, salmon, chicken, etc.), cereal and pasta. For more information on Caritas-Waco, visit the organization’s website at www.caritas-waco.org.

This is the second straight year in which Baylor and Texas have met in a fall scrimmage. While the game does not count toward the teams’ 2009 win-loss records, it does count toward the teams’ maximum number of games (56) for the 2009 schedule. Last season, the Longhorns edged the Bears 5-3 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.

Baylor returns 19 letterwinners, including eight position starters and six pitchers, from last year’s squad.
