Director of Basketball Operations

In his second season in the Baylor basketball program is John Marczak, who joined the Bears as director of basketball operations in the summer of 2001.

Marczak assumed the position of basketball operations, and he is responsible for assisting in the promotion of Baylor basketball. His duties focus on serving as the program's liaison to the student body, campus organizations, basketball camps and the Fast Break Club. Marczak is also responsible for team meals and managing electronic advancements.

Marczak came to Baylor from the University of Denver, where he spent the 2000-2001 season as an assistant to head coach Marty Fletcher. On the Pioneers’ staff, his duties included supervising the academic program, film exchange, scouting, coordination of off-season camps and overseeing the managerial staff.

A graduate of Syracuse, Marczak spent six seasons working with the Orangemen basketball program. Following his graduation with a bachelor of science in Information Management and Technology in 1998, he spent two seasons as an administrative assistant for the Orangemen under head coach Jim Boeheim. Marczak earned a master's degree in Information Resource Management from Syracuse in May 2000.

At Syracuse, Marczak assisted with practice schedules, film exchange, travel arrangements and served as assistant director of Boeheim's Big Orange Basketball Camp. He began his stint at Syracuse as a student manager.

A native of Auburn, Maine, Marczak is a former baseball, basketball and golf letterman at Edward Little High School.
