BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES
Head Coach Scott Drew
On the focus of his team coming into this game...
"I think anytime you start Big 12 play you have got to be focused. If not, then you are not going to be successful. Especially coming off a loss, we just wanted to make sure that we got back to playing Baylor basketball."
On looking to establish a post presence...
"Iowa State did such a good job packing it in and giving us the open threes, and we took them. In this game we took some threes when we had them, but I think we made an effort to look to the bigs, especially when they were deep on ball screens. We got some easy ones on the drive as well, which we didn't get last game."
Sophomore F Taurean Prince
On his offensive production...
"I feel more confident than last year. I know my role and I just try to play within the program and try to find my spots. It helps having two twin towers to take the attention away. I hope some of that stuff starts coming my way so that I can get others involved as well. It is something I emphasize every day. I try to get in the gym on my own and work on my offense -- that way when I come into practice I can really focus on my defense."
Senior F Cory Jefferson
On the effectiveness of the bench players...
"It is a good feeling. When we come out we don't have to worry about if we come out ahead to get a quick breather. We come out and we know that everyone coming off the bench is going to do their job. TP (Taurean Prince) is one of the best at it. It is amazing to see his growth from last year. He goes out there and does what he is supposed to do along with everyone else out there."
Senior G Brady Heslip
On the mindset of players coming off the bench...
"As soon as there is a jump ball we are waiting for coach to say for us to get in there, and once you get in there you are itching to contribute somehow."
TCU POSTGAME QUOTES
Head Coach Trent Johnson
"Baylor is pretty good. Well, let me rephrase that -- Baylor is really good. They dominated us on the glass the whole game. We couldn't put them in a situation where they were uncomfortable with any particular play or player. So, we have to figure this thing out and get us playing better against really good teams. Trust me, I've been around the game for a long time and have seen a lot of teams, and Baylor is a really good team."
On production of Baylor's bench...
"I watched a lot of tape on [Baylor], particularly against Iowa State and Kentucky, and I was very impressed. They're coached well, they're healthy, and they have guys on their team who play their roles very well. What I appreciate the most about them is that they are competitive and play with a lot of substance."
Freshman G Brandon Parrish
On the game after first five minutes...
"I think they started to just beat us physically. They started pounding and pounding and we started to back up. We didn't continue to fight back like we did during those first few minutes. I guess that's what put them over the top of us."
On being shorthanded...
"It doesn't matter who's not playing that game or who we're playing. We'll always have five guys on the floor who need to fight, and the people on the bench need to back them up no matter what. Empty handed or fully healthy, we have to fight back."
On Coach Johnson's message after game...
"He didn't have much to say to us after the game. He told us to get showered and get ready to head back. That means that it probably won't be a fun week of practice for us. There was a message on the board that said, `we quit,' so that's definitely not a good look for us. We have to pull together and get going in the right direction."
