22/24 BAYLOR (14-2, 2-1) 83, OKLAHOMA STATE(13-4, 1-2) 70
JAN. 16, 2010

Head Coach Scott Drew

On the game…
"I think the crowd gave us a great energy boost in the second half and we were able to get a couple of back-to-back baskets and this place was rocking and we were able to get that separation. It was a team effort. After a loss there is nothing better than getting a win. In the second half I think we really tightened it up on the defensive end holding them to 30 percent shooting and 15 percent from the three-point line. Offensively we shot at a very high rate and made the extra passes. Give credit to the guys for stepping up.”

On LaceDarius Dunn after picking up two fouls…
"As he has gotten older and more mature, and with two quick fouls, he is smart enough to know that we need him in the game. Give credit to the leadership around him with Ekpe (Udoh), Tweety (Carter) and Josh (Lomers) doing a good job keeping a level head on him as well.”

On the play of Anthony Jones…
"I think he was the one that gave us that great run when he hit the three-point bucket and had that drive for the dunk. He did a good job on the boards and 16 points is excellent. We would like to get that every game, but it was super today.”

On the improvement of LaceDarius Dunn…
"I think Lace, as he continues to grow as a player, has diversified his game a little and has been able to score inside on the post ups. He has also been able to score off the drive. When you do a little bit of that and then when you’re not making jumpers then you can at least have balance. The other thing is that we have other good players around him so his shot selection has been better.”

Junior Forward Ekpe Udoh

On the defensive effort in the second half…
"That was the biggest key of the game. At halftime we knew that we couldn’t play at our (first half pace). We know how (Oklahoma State) likes to run and they can get into the game with shooting threes. We made some adjustments at the half and I think we did a great job.”

Junior Guard LaceDarius Dunn

On his scoring run after picking up two quick fouls…
"I just got caught up in the spirit of the moment and with my teammates being great leaders they were calming me down and got me back in the game. (Picking up two fouls) just gave me a little spurt and made me want to go on a little (shooting) run by myself.”

Sophomore Forward Anthony Jones

On extending the home winning streak to 10 games…
"It’s always good to protect the home court. Like coach says, nobody comes into our house and wins. We just like to take pride and win at our home court.”

Head Coach Travis Ford

Opening Statement…
“You have to give Baylor a lot of credit. They got great production out of pretty much every player that played. We have to get more consistent throughout a game out of all of our players. We are just not getting consistent effort to help our team be where it needs to be right now… And Baylor did that. I thought that every player that played made significant contributions to their team. We played hard. I did not think we competed inside as well as we would have liked. Eleven minutes on the road and it is tied and we just let them go on a run, a big time run… A big time spurt we could not recover from.”

On the game…
“Give Baylor credit, they played very hard tonight. It was a very physical basketball game out there.”

On what Baylor did to win…
"I thought their players made plays. I thought we played really small and very soft today. We are just taking a lot of bad shot right now, a lot of bad shots. It is tough to make bad shots, it is hard to make those type shots.”

On Ekpe Udoh’s impact …
"He is a great player. I have talked to a couple scouts and they said he can be a top 15, 20 pick in this draft. He is a great player. I thought he played well. He affects the game in so many ways. He has come along way and he is one of the best players in the country, one of the best players in this league.”

On Baylor’s height advantage…
“They are big. They are long. Scott has done a great job of putting these guys in position to be successful that helps them. Their length helps them… Their players are stepping up.”

Senior Guard Obi Muonelo

On playing against high school teammate Ekpe Udoh…
"It was fun. It was a real experience, because I have not seen him play in a long time He understands the game better. He understands what he is good at. He understands what he need to do for his team to be successful.”

On what happened in the second half…
"Whenever we are hitting shots we definitely are going to be a hard team to guard. We got the shots we wanted tonight, but they did not fall when we really needed them. All that is going to take care of itself. We are a hard working team. We work hard everyday in practice I am not really worried about that part. I am more worried about us stopping people on defense. We are just not stopping anybody. If we want to win games in the Big 12 you are going to have to make stops, three or four possessions straight. Until we do that we are not going to be successful.”

Junior Guard James Anderson

On the team’s defense…
"Like Obi said, I don’t think we got a lot of stops at one point. Like you said, this is the Big 12 and we are going to have to play solid the whole game and that is something we did not do tonight.”
