 Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening Statement:
“I thought this was a great game for us, from the standpoint that it was a hard game to fill number one (with the bye week), and the way we got off to a quick start, we were able to give players an opportunity that normally don’t get as many minutes this time of year. I thought the bench was super, cheering them on. I thought on the court we obviously did a lot of good things, or else we wouldn’t have been able to break the Baylor all-time record for largest margin of victory, so it’s always good setting positive records like that. At the same time, Hardin-Simmons is awful banged up with some injuries and some players that weren’t able to be here, so we wish them the best of luck the rest of the year, but we’re glad they could fill this day for us.”

On the decision to sit Pierre Jackson and Isaiah Austin:
“I thought that those guys have played a lot of minutes, been banged up and this is an opportunity for them to cheer on some of the other players that everyday get them better in practice and cheer them on during the games. Also, you want to give minutes to guys because you never know injuries, foul trouble, illnesses may come about. It’s one thing playing 10 minutes or 15, and it’s something else to play 20 or 30.”

On looking ahead to Oklahoma State:
“They’re so athletic and good in transition when they force turnovers. They’ve rebounded well at their defensive end. This is a team that has been ranked and there’s a reason they’re ranked, they’re awfully talented. It’s a team that’s deeper than they’ve been in terms of people that can score 20 points on you.”

 Freshman Guard L.J. Rose

On handling the point guard duties with Pierre sitting:
“It was great, I go against him (Jackson) every day in practice and he gets me better. I’ve gotten a lot better since I got here and being able to go out and showcase it was a lot of fun, and a great opportunity.”

If he knew during the game about his double-double:
“There was a play where I threw a lob to Deuce, and he came down with it. Then the bench was telling me I was at nine assists, but I didn’t know it was that close until they were telling me.”

 Freshman Forward Taurean Prince

On playing 26 minutes:
“It was a whole bunch of fun. To be able to go play with my teammates was a lot of fun.”

 Freshman Forward Rico Gathers

On the quick turnaround to play Oklahoma State:
“It won’t be difficult at all (to switch gears). That was our main thing tonight was just to prepare for that type of game. It was kind of hard, because we weren’t playing Oklahoma State tonight. But I think a lot of our guys see the bigger picture. And the bigger picture is on Monday.”
