Saturday, January 22, 2011 - Attendance: 8,045
Ferrell Center (Waco, Texas)

  Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening Statement:
" I am really, really proud of a couple areas. First, defensively when you play against Oklahoma State, coach Ford does a tremendous job on the offensive end getting their players good looks and good shots and for us to hold them to 39 percent. I thought it was a tremendous defensive effort by our players. The other thing is we did a great job on the boards. To outrebound them 40-19 and then only give up five offensive boards, again the players deserve all the credit for that. We have to concentrate on what we do well and that is we have to continue to defend and rebound and win ugly."

On the reason for starting J'mison Morgan:
"Talking to Q (Quincy Acy), Q had thought it might have been something good for us. I know Bobo (Morgan) did a really good job against Kansas, just being physical in the middle. I thought he really played well today. Again, Q gives us a great spark off the bench. I thought it worked out well today."

On Morgan's defense:
"I thought the defense was more active, but at the end of the day, a lot of time people get shots. Some days you make them, some days you don't and I thought we did a good job on the defensive end, but when they got shots they didn't make them. That obviously helps your defense, but the big thing though is the second-chance points. We only gave them five offensive rebounds and five points on the second chance."

  Freshman Forward Perry Jones III

On the difference in the defense down low:
"We wanted it more. We didn't want our front line to be embarrassed like we were last game. We had a point to prove. We just came out strong, came out hard."

On his play in the game:
"(I am) Just doing what I do in practice every day, posting up hard, posting up strong and trying to get to the goal. I am trying to do my best to help my team win."

  Senior Guard LaceDarius Dunn

On his the defensive effort today:
"I think from the last loss, we came out with a different kind of game plan and game focus. I think everybody came out focused knowing how important this win would be to this program. Our team just came out and did a great job matching their intensity and just playing our ball and not forcing it."

On if defense was emphasized in practice this week:
"We have been getting at it, just doing what we need to do to be successful in the Big 12 Conference. We are going to do that everyday. We are going to get better at practice and get our mind focused and get ready for the next game."

  Head Coach Travis Ford

Opening Statement:
"The foul trouble hurt us, but (Baylor) played well. They played well and made plays when they needed to make them. We didn't match up bad with them to start the game. Perry Jones (III) is a pro and he played like it tonight. That foul trouble early hurt us and we didn't get much out of our top-three scorers. You can't go on the road and do that."

On shooting 4-for-19 from 3-point range:
"(Baylor) did a good job. They did a good job."

On Baylor's run to end the first half:
"It didn't help. We gave up 17 layups. They shot 36 free throws and shot 77 percent in the second half."

  Junior Forward Darrell Williams

On being in early foul trouble:
"It affected me a lot. I was just trying to play hard and get in a rhythm, but the fouls messed me up."

On the talent of Baylor freshman Perry Jones III:
"He's very talented. As you all saw today, (he had) 24 (points) and eight (assists.) He's a pro."

 Freshman Forward Markel Brown

On his first start:
"It felt good for me. I wanted to kind of contain LaceDarius Dunn a little bit. He got off 16 points. I kept him below his average, but I didn't do enough."

On conversing with LaceDarius Dunn throughout the game:
"I guess he was trying to talk me out of my game because I'm a freshman, but I really wasn't paying attention to it."
