11/14 KANSAS STATE (17-3, 4-2) 76, 24/RV BAYLOR (15-4, 2-3) 74
JAN. 26, 2010

Head Coach Scott Drew
On the game...

"In a game like this, one team doesn't necessarily always lose the game--I think the other team sometime wins the game. I think tonight that two teams competed extremely hard and I think that K-State just made some big shots and some big plays. I think they earned the win tonight. Obviously (Jacob) Pullen down the stretch was huge. Credit them for making the plays. I am not disappointed with our effort. We didn't shoot it as well as we have and credit KState's defense with some of that. I thought we competed."

On K-State slicing through the zone...
"That is the most frustrating thing for coaches, players and fans. Some games they go in, some games they don't--the question is, are they good looks? I thought we gave them some good looks, but they made some tough shots too and you have to credit them for making tough shots."

On the K-State shutting down LaceDarius Dunn...
"I think (Jacob) Pullen did a tremendous job so give him credit. There were some plays that normally he makes. I was proud of his effort tonight. He wasn't 100 percent. He is battling through an injury but he competed and played hard. That is what you want from a player."

On the inbounds play to close the game...
"We were originally going to get the ball to Tweety (Carter), but Lace was one-on-one and we all know that Lace is pretty good one-on-one in the open court. Lace took it and we will have to watch film and see exactly what happened, because we wanted to get into the paint and try to get contact like we had done most of the second half. Credit K-State for really doing a great job defensively on that last play."

Senior Guard Tweety Carter
On the loss...
"It's very frustrating, but we have to let this one go and learn from ourselves and prepare for Texas."

On the last play of the game...
"They doubled on the inbound. Like coach said, we want Lace one-on-one coming down the floor--we will take that any day. We just have to come back and prepare for Texas on Saturday."

On the defensive effort by K-State...
"They denied high and pushed their bigs up so it was hard to get into an offensive flow. Down the stretch we executed and got some good looks, but we just didn't hit shots."

Sophomore Forward Anthony Jones
On the game...
"It was pretty physical out there. They denied us pretty high and got us out of our offense in the first half. We couldn't run the system that we wanted to, so we had to adjust a little bit."

Head Coach Frank Martin
On the play of Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente...
"Denis is always zoned in. Jake has and I should have said something to Jake about two weeks ago. His practice habits had slipped a little bit. It is not his fault, just those freshman are not ready to deal with him every single day, so things are a little easy for him. But we talked and like I told him, `I should have said this to you two weeks ago and I didn't.' He has been tremendous the last two days. Jake has got a lot of pride, I mean a lot of pride. He understood whatever was happening over the last couple of weeks wasn't good and he just zoned in ... Those two guys are the heart and soul of our team. They don't like losing very much and it is a credit to them."

On Baylor...
"These guys are good. These guys are an NCAA team. I mean God are they good. They are long . They are athletic. They have got one of the toughest kids in the league at point guard. They have a two guard that can score with the best of them around the country. They got that size on that front line and Quincy Acy comes in off the bench and he is as athletic as anybody in this league. They are a good basketball team."

On his team's defense performance...
"We gave up too many offensive rebounds. I thought we did a decent job defending. Tweety (Carter) played his tail off. He is good. But we did a decent job defending. We did a poor job finishing possessions with defensive rebounds, especially in the second half. I thought we had a chance to maybe build a little lead there in the second half, but we didn't do it because we weren't rebounding. I was happy."

Junior Guard Jacob Pullen
On getting his shot back...
"I watched a lot of film on the last two games and why I wasn't shooting the ball well. It was just small mechanical things that I had to fix up."

On Baylor's defense...
"We just really tried to exploit their zone, really tried to go inside-out first and when we got some shots at the free throw line we really kind of made them sandwich in and then we shot the ball well. Our coaches did a really good job scouting for us and really focusing in on us in practice and telling us we really had to get the ball to the free throw line before we were able to take jumpers. As guards, I think we did a good job not forcing shots, really just taking the shots that they gave us and really trying to go inside out first."

On his game winning free throws...
"The whole time I was standing there I was just thinking ice and just had to think elbow in and shoot the ball. I really had to zone out the crowd."

Senior Guard Denis Clemente
On getting a win after last week's loss...
"It was so important this game to win it and prepare ourselves for Saturday. I mean that is a big win on the road. We need to keep winning and stay game by game.
