  Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening statement...
"I thought it was another classic A&M Baylor rivalry game, I was glad the nation got a chance to see how good our games have been in the past. I really credit Coach Kennedy and A&M I know they have some injuries and they came out and fought. I'm proud of our guys, when you have a lead and the crowd gets involved, and you lose the lead, to be able to come back shows a lot about this team."

Does Pierre have some gene that makes him good in late game situation?
"I don't know, but if we could clone it or duplicate it, we would inject it into a lot of people. I think the bigger the moment or the play, the better he is. You either got it or you don't, and he's got it."

On Baylor being proficient in close games...
"I think if you look over the last four or five years, the trend has been we've been pretty good in late games. The reason is it comes down to leadership and as we're bringing in younger players, the upperclassmen tell them what's expected and prepare them for late game situations."

On A&M coming back...
"I think credit them because first of all, they were defensively getting stops. We shot 31 percent. Our two games against A&M have been two of our worst outputs offensively and that's a direct connection of Coach Kennedy and the defense he instills. To compound it, we were pretty bad on defense. If you're struggling on one in, you have to pick it up on the other."

On limiting Elston Turner...
"I think we just really tried to make every one of his shots difficult. With a player like that you can just do your best to hope it's not going in. Tonight it wasn't going in."

  Senior F Quincy Acy

On playing in College Station...
"It's a lot of fun, the crowd is real into it, they play 100 percent. Coming into this environment and coming out with a win, it shows a lot about this team."

What does it show about this team that you were down and then came back?
"It shows we need to get better first of all. It shows our will to come back, we always practice these situations in practice, and coach prepares us, so we were prepared for the game."

On A&M fighting with players out with injuries...
"They're two of their better players. They showed heart trying to defend their home court-- that shows a lot about them and their coach."

  Sophomore F Perry Jones III

On the team being in a position to win the Big 12...
"The team has kept a chance of doing something it hasn't; of possibly winning the big 12. We're trying to get better and trying to do their best can to win every road game and definitely defend the home court."

  Junior G Pierre Jackson

What was A&M doing defensively to come back?
"We were just settling for jumpshots, Coach got after us in the huddle. Their defense was alright, but we were just settling for jumpshots."

On the big three-pointer to go ahead at the end of the game...
"Coach called it for me, and tried to get a shot up. I missed my previous three wide-open, but my teammates told me that I was going to make it and I did."
