Baylor vs. Texas Post Game Quotes

Feb. 17, 2007

Recap |  Box Score |  Notes |  Photo Gallery

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew:

"The way we drew it out was to score and storm the court and win, but that didn't happen. I'm disappointed that we didn't build on the lead we had at the eleven minute mark...We settled for some quick 3's. That, to me, was where we should have built the lead."

"In our situation, our guards do shoot the ball pretty well, when we hit a few, it does give them some confidence."

"We didn't have any timeouts, because we used them early in some tie-up situations. We called the last to try and get back in it with 1:30 left."

"We're not the best finishing team, but that's an area we have improved over the year."

"We had some trouble with the zone. Kevin does a great job against the zone and he was out during a lot of that time."

On Kevin Durant:

"I think he had 20 and 14, but he took 16 shots, so I think C.J. (Curtis Jerrells) did a great job, Kevin (Rogers) and Tim (Bush) did a great job. The help side defense was very good."

Baylor Forward Kevin Rogers:

"Coach always tells us that the game is a game of runs. Texas went on a run, and then we did. Towards the end, we hit some big shots. We need to close these close games out to become a better team... We just really wanted to win. We talked about it all week in practice."

Baylor Guard Curtis Jerrells :

"I was trying to see what was open. When I tried to drive and I saw Shepherd's man on me, Shepherd was there. He did a great job of getting a shot off."
