BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening Statement...
"I think that's just another typical Big Monday game. We're up with 3.5 left but it had to go to overtime, so we threw it to them and let them get a shot, so that it could go to overtime, so we could have three straight Big Monday overtime games. I was really proud of how our guys came out in overtime because when you do something like that, it's devastating. That's like getting punched in the gut, and for us to refocus, regroup, come back out and be very sound and efficient in overtime, to hold them to 26 percent while we shot 75 percent. I thought that was tremendous. I was really proud of the leadership and character of the team to come back and get that win. I thought Oklahoma State played really hard, Markel (Brown) really stepped up, made big plays. It was a good game for TV I thought."

On Cory Jefferson's performance...
"It was great to see. We needed him. We needed that big three he had and he was good from the free-throw line. I thought he did a lot of positive things."

On how they bounced back after the tough ending in regulation...
"After I had a heart attack, I think our staff was very positive, and our upperclassmen did a great job of making sure we were ready to go from the tip. We took care of business in overtime. It was a great character test. Most teams would fold after something like that. It'd be real easy after the losses we had this year, the easy thing to do would be to fold. The tough thing to do was hold them to 26 percent and shoot 75 percent and get the win."

On NCAA tournament hopes...
"Three wins, I feel like we've got some positive momentum. In this league, you can play well and not win, so we need to control what we can control, play as hard as we can, as well as we can. We didn't operate well offensively. We took some bad, uncharacteristic shots. We can get better at all that stuff. Obviously at the end of the game we make sure we get the ball inbounds. With that being said, this year in the league, RPI-wise, strength of schedule-wise, that's what this league's about- it gives you a chance to go to the tournament with losses."

Senior Corey Jefferson

Mindset of team going in OT...
"It was positive. Everybody on the team was staying positive. We knew that we could win it. We were just being real positive from the coaches, to the guys on the bench to the players in the game. We just did two of them the other day. This was nothing new for us. We had plenty of practice for it and we knew we could do it."

On his aggressive play today...
"I just wanted to get the ball inside to me, Isaiah, or Rico, just get it into the paint; even the guards driving and getting a layup or fouled, anything to get them in foul trouble."

Sophomore Isaiah Austin

On if his illness was possibly going to keep him out of the game...
"Before the game a little bit because I wasn't feeling very well. The night before I had an 101-degree fever and this morning 100 degree. I got an IV because I couldn't keep any food or fluids down. But I got out there and my teammates were behind me and told me they needed me so I wanted to give them my all tonight."

On coming alive in the second half...
"In the beginning of the second half Coach Drew actually ran a play for me, because he has a lot of confidence in me and wanted to get me going, and I missed it and he pulled me. He told me, `I'm gonna need you to play'. I told him, `I'll step up if you put me back in coach'. He put me back in and that's what I tried to do for my team."

OKLAHOMA STATE POSTGAME QUOTES

Head Coach Travis Ford

Opening Statement...
"We played hard. We had some guys in foul trouble that hurt us a little bit in the first half. The guys battled and showed a lot of heart. We had a lot of guys play who really helped us keep it close. It is just tough to win when you give up 22 offensive rebounds and they only had two scoring threats."

On what he tells his players after a game like this...
"Keep your head up. Get ready for Saturday. Keep your head up. We fought hard and the effort was there. We were prepared in one day. They did a great job preparing for that zone. We really worked on some things to make adjustments from the first game and it all worked. I think if you go back and look at the tape I bet we held them to an extremely low percentage on first shots. We did everything adjustments wise we wanted to do other than we did not rebound the ball and that is the difference in the game."

On the final play of regulation...
"I brought them in and told them `You got to make a steal. You got to make a deflection. As soon as the ball hits your hands, if you are below the three point line, throw it to a guy and if you are above it shoot it.'"

Guard Markel Brown

On his thoughts from the game...
"Our offensive rebounding hurt us tonight. We had our chances. I am always giving everything I have for this team. I hate losing and I am sure the guys in the locker room feel the same way."

On the final play of regulation...
"It was a breath of fresh air. It was almost like the basketball gods wants us to win and then they took it back away from us. I do not think Leyton (Hammonds) made a three all year and he stepped up and made a big time three. It was a breath of fresh air. Going into overtime I thought we had a really, really good chance."

Guard Phil Forte

On his thoughts from the game...
"We are all exhausted. Every player left it all out there on the floor tonight, there is no doubt about that. We just did not come up with a couple plays at the end of the game and overtime to get the win. "

On how much fatigue is a factor...
"I would be lying if I said that we do not get tired out there but at the same time we just dig down deep, scratch and claw, and find a way to contribute and win."
