NR/NR TEXAS TECH 78, RV/RV BAYLOR 69 - Ferrell Center (Waco, Texas)
Saturday, February 19, 2011 - Attendance: 8,692

Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening Statement:
"Dejected. Disappointed. Upset as much as you can be after a game, but (I) want to give Texas Tech credit. They got every big play, every loose ball. I mean they basically had the answer tonight and they earned the victory. I was proud of how we fought in the second half and how we competed, but when you give up 51 percent defensive field goal percentage and get out-rebounded and have 10 assists to 16 turnovers, you don't deserve to win and we know that."

On Tech's scoring in the paint:
"We mixed up defenses and it seemed like it was the same old same old no matter what we were doing. We will have to go back on the film and find out what areas we need to improve and get better at and try to do that for the remaining four games of the season."

On how much the loss hurts the chance of an NCAA tournament berth:
"It makes it extremely difficult, but at the same time, as long as there is a chance to play, there is still a chance. We will approach it that way and we will bounce back."

Senior Guard LaceDarius Dunn
On what went wrong in the game:
"We didn't execute mostly on the defensive end and giving up too many offensive rebounds. Not making it one-and-done on the defensive end. They came out hungrier than we did and won it."

On how much the loss stings:
"It was a tough loss. Taking care of home court is very, very important. That is something we always did good, but we got to get better. They just came out and executed better than us and had more energy. We just didn't match it."

On if they were able to take the lead in the second half did they think they could get on a roll:
"No doubt. Like I said, we cut it down and got back in the game, but it was just that hump. We couldn't just make that extra push to get over that hump and take over the game and get it in our favor. Like I said they just came out and wanted it more than us."

Junior Forward Quincy Acy
On Tech getting in the paint during the game:
"We just let them in. We have got to do a better job of keeping them out."

Head Coach Pat Knight
On the win:
"It was good for us. We have actually played well in our last two and a half games, the second half of the Texas game, and the games against Texas A&M and Missouri. The record doesn't show it, but the kids have just kept playing hard and we deserve this. We have had to learn that even though you deserve it, you have to take it. No one is going to give it to you. That's why we call a time out, and then (LaceDarius) Dunn comes back and hits a three. When you play a team with a player of that caliber, the game is never done. Our guys just worked and worked. Practices have been great and we just haven't had the carry over all the time at the games but the kids deserve it, they just played hard."

On being without two players due to foul s down the stretch:
"That's the smart thing when you do play a lot of zone because you don't tend to get in foul trouble. I am just not a zone guy and I really don't know how to coach it. So that is something we need to probably work on ourselves because we were holding them. But they did a really good job of posting us up, and instead of turning our guy and moving our feet, we just shoved them in the back and they did a good job of taking advantage of that."

On how they were able to limit Perry Jones and LaceDarius Dunn:
"Well he was our focus; we let them get away from us in Lubbock in the second half. They didn't blow us out but they made it so that we couldn't ever catch up, and so we really focused on them. They are such good players that they are going to get some numbers, but let's make them work for it. I thought our guys did a really good job paying attention to those two guys."
