WACO, Texas (AP) - Lawrence Roberts had 22 points and 14 rebounds and R.T.
Guinn added 15 points and 11 boards as Baylor beat Nebraska 78-64 Saturday.
John Lucas added 16 for Baylor (13-10, 4-8 Big 12), which has won three
straight Big 12 games for the first time since 1998. Nebraska (9-16, 1-11) has
lost nine straight games.
Brian Conklin led Nebraska with 15 points, all scored on 3-pointers. He was
5-of-8 from beyond the arc.
The score was tied 40-40 at halftime and stayed close until late.
Nebraska went on a 7-0 run to cut the Baylor lead to 53-52, but then the
Bears began to pull away. They took a 58-52 lead with 14 minutes left on Lucas'
3-pointer.
Nebraska closed to within 70-61, but Baylor held the Huskers to three points
in the final six minutes.
The Huskers started hot, taking a 19-12 lead about nine minutes into the
game by going 8-of-10 from the field. Baylor was just 4-of-14 in that span.
The Bears took their first lead at 25-24 about three minutes later after
Kenny Taylor hit two 3-pointers. His jumper with two seconds left in the half
tied the score at 40.
