Perry Jones III and Scott Drew prior to Saturday's game vs. Canada

TORONTO –Behind three 20-point scoring performances, Baylor avenged its tour-opening loss with an impressive 104-78 win over the Canadian juniors squad Saturday at Ryerson University’s Kerr Hall.
Baylor’s low-post duo of Perry Jones III and Cory Jefferson each posted double-doubles with both contributing a team-high 21 points. PJ3 added 10 rebounds, while Jefferson led the way with a team-high 13 boards, including seven on the offensive glass. Burlington, Ontario, native Brady Heslip added 20 points, burying five treys.
Anthony Jones was the fourth Baylor player in double figures, scoring 14 points and adding five rebounds.
“Everybody likes to win and the good thing with playing two games Saturday is that it gives us a chance to play everyone and not wear anyone out,” Baylor head coach Scott Drew said.
“These games allow players like Cory (Jefferson) a chance to get some reps in game situations,” Drew said. “This will help him and our new players learn and get better.”
For the second straight game, Baylor played FIBA regulations, which include the use of a trapezoidal lane and 24-second shot clock. Baylor and Canada played two 20-minute periods.
Baylor led by as many as 34 points, 87-53, with 8:32 remaining in the second half. Canada led briefly in the early moments of the game, but the Bears pulled away shortly before the 15-minute mark of the first half and never relinquished the lead.
“Brady (Heslip) is the type of player that you have to know where he is at all times,” Drew said. “Our outside shooting gives our low-post players a chance to go one-on-one and that’s a credit to Brady being able to stretch the defense.”
Baylor will return to the Ryerson University campus Saturday for its matchup against the host Ryerson Rams at 7:30 p.m. CDT (8:30 p.m. EDT). Free live video for the Baylor-Ryerson game will be available at SportsCanada.tv.
