Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew:

On the game:

"Tarleton's a very good team. This is a great thing for us, not that we lost the game and executed poorly, but it gives us an idea of what we need to focus on and improve on before we start playing the games that count."

On LaceDarius Dunn's performance:

"Lace (LaceDarius Dunn) did some pretty good things, but then he did some things that we'll be able to help him out with on the film. We went into a stretch where we had five straight shots without a touch in the paint, and that's a thing where even if you're a good shooter, you've got to mix up our scoring more and get the ball in the paint."

On moving forward:

"We've got nine days to become a much better team, which we will because this group is experienced enough to know that we're not a bad team."

Baylor guard Henry Dugat:

On the team's performance:

"We thought we could've played better and maybe we could've had a different outcome, but obviously we know we've got work to do. We've got to go in to practice tomorrow, and we can't linger on this game because we've got another game coming up in a few days that we've got to prepare for. We didn't underestimate them, but they came out and hit some tough shots and they got some great looks. We've got to pick up our defensive intensity.  Tarleton came out and they wanted it more than us. They outhustled us and they came out with the win."

On opening with a loss:

"We're facing reality now. This is a good step for us because we've got things to work on, so we'll get to work on them tomorrow."

Baylor guard LaceDarius Dunn:

On what went wrong:

"We got outrebounded, so that's one of the things that we've got to work on. Coming into the game we didn't think that they'd rebound like they did."

On his individual performance in his first collegiate game:

"I think I did alright, but I could've done better to help my team out more. I thought I gave 99.9 when I should've given 100 percent. I could've played better (defense)."

Tarleton State Head Coach Lonn Reisman:

On the game:

"We feel like we have a team right now that can compete for the national championship (in Division II). This is a big testing point for us right now because we have a lot of players out there who transferred in and have never played together before. We really worked hard in practice to try to put this chemistry together, and I was very proud of the way they shared the ball tonight and the way they supported each other."

"We wanted to come and play as hard as we could we play, and that's what we did. A couple of years ago we played Lamar down in Lamar and beat them in an exhibition, and that's what it's for is to compete. Winning or losing, I wanted to see the competition level of our players; how they would go out and compete."
