Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew:
"We improved in a lot of areas that we found out we needed to improve in after the Tarleton (State) game, so that's a good thing. The other thing is, you win, so that's a better feeling than last week. There's plenty of things that we still need to work on and get better at, so it gives a lot of areas to work on and get ready for the next couple of games in the Virgin Islands."
"We just have to make sure Lace(LaceDarius Dunn) understands that triple-double doesn't include turnovers, so we need to cut down on that number. When he came in he showed what an offensive spark he can give the team, and he was really on fire in the first half. We really extended the lead when he was in, and he rebounds well, so we'll work on the turnover part, but I'm very pleased with his performance."
"The bigger lineup just gives us more stability. We opened up getting the ball inside versus shooting threes. The small lineup will definitely come into play, but we need to get better. When our four guards were in at the end of the game, we turned the ball over, and we didn't guard very well defensively, so we need to get better if we're going to do that."
Baylor Forward Kevin Rogers:
"That week off that we had in between games helped us figure out some things and correct some things. We came in and executed, but we still have some kinks that we need to work out on defense. 76 points is too much to give up, but we came in with a better focus for this game."
"Coach made it a point for us to start getting it inside to make it easier on these guys (the guards). They carry such a big load, and we as the big guys have just got to be able to finish in there. If they get us great looks, it easy because all we have to do is finish."
Baylor Guard LaceDarius Dunn:
"I just went out there and tried to have fun, tried to take the best shots possible, and just tried to make everything."
"My team was moving the ball pretty well, so I got a lot of good looks from my teammates moving the ball around. Coach always tells us to make three passes and then look for the score, so that's what we did, and I got a lot of good shots."
Baylor Guard Aaron Bruce:
"We addressed a few of the problems, but we've still got a little work to go in transition defense. We had a couple of breakdown problems where we had bigs guarding guards, and the guards were just running around trying to find their spot. We've got to cover the rim and then work our way back to the ball, but we did a good job tonight, and we definitely improved."
"We prepared a lot harder during the week, and we really focused on working on some things that hurt us against Tarleton State. Once we start playing defense, that carries over into the offensive end, and we've got a lot of talented, athletic scorers, so we had a good night."
