12/12 BAYLOR 77, TEXAS SOUTHERN 57
FERRELL CENTER • WACO, TEXAS
NOV. 11, 2011 • ATTENDANCE: 7,359

Head Coach Scott Drew
On Quincy Miller’s game tonight…

“I know with Quincy, you look at him and see him projected and people talk about him, and we expect so much out of him because we know he has that in him. But at the same time, he didn’t play high school basketball because of his ACL injury last year. It is tough enough adjusting from high school to college, let alone if you don’t play your senior year and did rehab all year. It is going to take him a little bit of time and he will get better and better as the year goes on, but I love his work ethic and his desire to improve.”

On Anthony Jones’s performance tonight…
“Anthony Jones and Cory Jefferson really stood out when you look at those rebounding numbers, and rebounding is heart, toughness, all of that stuff. I thought we really did a good job as a team coming out and improving from our exhibition game. I think it was night and day on how we blocked out and how we rebounded. The good thing is that we have made improvement there. When you play 19 minutes and you get 10 rebounds like Cory did, or you get 29 minutes and 12 rebounds for Ant, those are good numbers.”

Senior F Anthony Jones
On the team coming out and playing with a high level of intensity…
“That is what our coaches tell us to do every day. Make sure we are the first to the floor, make sure we get every loose ball and get all of the 50-50 balls. That is the difference between winning and losing.”

Freshman F Quincy Miller
On his first game here at Baylor…
“My teammates were looking for me to score, and they were just looking for me every time and I was just trying to put the ball in the basket.”

Redshirt Sophomore F Cory Jefferson
On getting his first double-double…
“(It) Feels great really, my first official game back off of the redshirt and all of the hard work paid off. Working with Coach Charlie in the weight room, that was a big difference and it just felt good to be back playing out here with the team in a jersey.”
