Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew

On the game...
"Hats off to Hartford, they played a tremendous game. They really picked us apart for a while on the defensive end. Credit them for really coming to play. The great thing is that you would always rather learn after a win than learn after a loss. We have a lot of areas that we can improve and get better on, but at the same time we did get the win. For our young players it was the first time that they were in the kind of position and for them to step forward and come up big like that was great. A.J. (Walton's) big steal and then getting the ball to Ekpe (Udoh) down the stretch was huge."

On Ekpe Udoh...
"That is one thing that we knew last year in practice that he was special from the standpoint that everybody talked about his great defense. You didn't hear much about his leadership, but he is a tremendous leader. You didn't hear much about his offensive game but he was a nightmare in practice last year. We expected him to come up big like this."

On the importance of getting a close win...
"As a coach you don't want to have close games, you like those bigger wins. (Close wins) get you ready for the season and what you are going to face in the Big 12. Last year we played Jacksonville and it really helped to prepare us for Anaheim because we had a close game and we had gotten a win and gotten some confidence. This game will definitely help with that as well."

Junior Guard LaceDarius Dunn

On the team bouncing back after trailing by 12 points...
"First of all, we came together as a team. I think we did a great job communicating on the defensive end and being in the right spots. Coach (Scott Drew) preached that it would be a good game coming in, but at the end we did a great job communicating and just playing solid defense."

On his slow start...
"I started out sluggish and I was feeling a little stiff out there but my teammates kept motivating me and telling me to keep shooting and to do what I do."

Junior Forward Ekpe Udoh

On the game...
"That was a tough game right there. To come back from 12 points and the way that we defended at the end of the game stopping their three-point attack--for us to come together like that with a freshman point guard is great to see. (Starting) 2-0 (is all that is going through my mind right now). We have to bounce right back and get ready for Southern tomorrow night. It is a quick turnaround."

Hartford Head Coach Dan Leibovitz

Opening Statement...
"I'll start off by saying, you have to give credit to Baylor and their team. We were able to jump out to a nice lead early, a very big lead in the second half and they did not go away. They hit big shot after big shot. We weren't able to get stops. But I can't help but feel at the same time, very proud of my team. I just felt that coming off of a loss in an opener, you couldn't respond too much better in terms of effort, energy and execution. We only had eight turnovers which something I am very proud of. We had a great chance to win. We should go back and feel very confident about everything ahead."

On the game...
"It was a heartbreaker. They were supposed to win. If that ball goes in it wasn't meant to be for us. I think he (Ekpe Udoh) was just throwing the ball in the direction of the basket and it was a great shot. He had two guys draped all over him and he was falling away. He just kind of spun and the ball went straight in. I thought our guys played tough and this guy right here (Joe Zeglinski) made big shot after big shot and he has always done that for us. I think we showed a lot of promise for our program."

On his team's ability to shoot three points...
"Particularly with Baylor's size, we got a little bit inside against their zone when they started getting a little over extended, but you are not going to be able to live too long on the blocks when your post players are 6-5 and 6-6 and they are in there with the trees. Sooner or later it is going to come down to dribble penetration, which our point guards did a great job, had 12 assists and one turnover, but it is going to come down to making shots."

Junior Guard Joe Zeglinski

On the performance...
"We played tough. They are a really good team. It is really tough to swallow. Not much to say, just happened to be on the wrong side of it."

On Baylor's defense in the second half...
"I thought that they got up in us a little bit more and started denying some of our shooters. We had a lot of balls that went in and out too, and just didn't go in and go our way in the second half."
