BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES
Head Coach Scott Drew
"I thought it was our best defensive effort of the season, holding them to 25 percent. I thought that really set the tone for things. Assist to turnover ratio, 19-5, was much better and much improved. A lot of positives and now we move on to Arizona State and get prepared for that."
On the low number of turnovers:
"We worked on offense during Thanksgiving break and I think everyone is getting a little more comfortable with the plays, with the offense and with one another. I think they did a great job concentrating and making the right plays and passes. Lace still deserves the exception, because this is only his second game. We get that down to one and then it is 19-3 and that would be really nice."
On the defensive pressure:
"Well I thought we had great hands, just by having our hands active. I thought we had a lot of deflections and that enabled us to get into transition, so I think our activity on defense really set the stage."
Senior Guard LaceDarius Dunn
On his play:
" I have to cut down on the turnovers. It just feels good to be out there with the guys and doing the things we love to do. I think we did a great job of coming out and not underestimating the team, because they were a smart team, but just coming out hard and getting the win ."
On focusing more than scoring:
"Yeah, I am focusing on it, but I think coach is got me more focused on it. I just go out there and do what I can do for my team, whatever that maybe; scoring, rebounding, assists, steals. I just try to do whatever to get the victory."
Junior Forward Quincy Acy
On the size advantage:
"The guards did a good job looking inside. We have been working on that in practice, getting better looks on the inside, getting better passes inside and I think we did a better job of that."
On his alley-oop from LaceDarius Dunn:
"He always tells me to run with him, so I run with him and he rewarded me. You can't ask for more that."

Head Coach Byron Rimm II
"I've been to a couple of NBA practices this year and I haven't even seen an NBA team that big. It was one of those games where our guys were shell-shocked and I know this is one of those games we played. The reason why we played that bad is because (Baylor) stretched that defense. Baylor played that zone. Our guys couldn't get in the gaps, and if we did get in the gaps we couldn't see over those guys with our guys that are 5-7 or 5-8. We tried to fight hard but we lost the scoring battle, that's what happens when you play the 10th ranked team in the country. They have a great basketball team. Coach (Scott) Drew is doing a great job. I think some great things are going to come with the Baylor program."
On defending senior guard, LaceDarius Dunn:
"Even when he doesn't score, you've got to keep an eye on him. We focused for about 30 minutes in practice the last two days on just keeping an eye on him. When you do something like that, it's kind of hard to forget about a guy like Perry Jones III under the basket. We're running around point a finger where Dunn is at and then you forgot there is a first-round draft pick running up under the basket. It's just one of those things where you've just got to pick your poison. We can forget about Lace and then he's going to be putting up three-pointers and we can forget about Perry and he's dunking the bal,l and then you've got (Quincy) Acy. It's one of those pick your poisons. It's going to be an exciting basketball team to watch this year."
On freshman forward, Perry Jones III:
"You don't see many guys that are 6-9, 6-10 or 6-11 that handle the ball like that. I've seen Perry for the last two or three years and he is what he is. He's a pro basketball player and let's just hope he keeps his head above himself. If just plays hard he's going to make a lot of money in the future."
