Head Coach Scott Drew
"During finals week, coaches are always nervous. Before your game when you see UMass and Kansas as well as Texas and Texas State battling it out, you get a little more (nervous). When you are off of your routine of practicing it is mentally challenging, especially at an academic institution like Baylor University. The big thing is if you are going to have that energy and concentration out there. Our leadership of our upperclassmen really took over and they did a very good job after they got down early on making sure that we had that energy and focus."
On the game:
"Like CJ(Curtis Jerrells) said, our defense was good enough that we could stay where we needed to until our offense picked up. When Henry (Dugat) got hot, his teammates did a really good job of feeding him the ball and looking for him. When Tweety (Carter) got hot, I think his teammates did a really good job of feeding him the ball."
Senior Guard Curtis Jerrells
On playing seven straight home games:
"It is good to play at home. As players, when you get on the road and you have everyone (cheering) against you, I think that gets you more fired up. With the schedule, we have to take care of what is in front of us. With seven-straight home games we are going to do what we need to do in practice to prepare for it."
Senior Guard Henry Dugat
On the defense feeding the offense:
"We started out a little bit slow. Like coach said, when we play defense it allows us to get in a groove (on offense).... (Scoring 8 straight points) was real fun, but I have to credit that to my teammates. They found me when I was open."
Junior Guard Tweety Carter
On the offensive production:
"With all of us guards being aggressive and making shots we are really hard to guard; when we go down and get stops, then we make our shots. Like coach said, Henry (Dugat) got us going and we feed off of that."
