  Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening Statement...
"I was pleased with the effort tonight. After a layoff you always get a little concerned if you are going to come out and be sharp. I thought that the defensive intensity was there from the beginning. The first half we held them to six field goals, which I thought was outstanding. This is a tough team to play from the standpoint that they are well coached and really do a good job in limiting the possessions and shortening the game. That is why they have only been beaten by more than 10 points one time, and why they had a chance to beat Central Florida at their place the other night."

On how Pierre Jackson has developed as a player ...
"Whenever he comes into the game everybody just expects him to be very good. He showed us that he can take care of the ball, he can hit the open guy, he can defend and he can knock down the three. He has been outstanding and I think people now kind of expect that from him when he comes in. The great thing is, when he does come in, he gives us a great spurt and you kind of go from those first couple minutes of the game to now all of a sudden the game speeds up a little bit because of how fast he is and how much he pushes the ball."

On going to play BYU on the road...
"I remember last year we hadn't played a true road game until Texas Tech and I believe we played great there. I don't think it matters, I think it is just each and every game. Again, why are we playing BYU? Because quite frankly, no one else wants to play up there because they know how tough it is to play up there. I mean 48-1 in their last 49 games verse non-conference opponents. It will be a challenge for us and I am sure their 22,000 fans will make it welcoming for us, and we look forward to it."

Forward Quincy Acy

On scoring 1,000 career points...
"It is an honor. I don't know what to say about it. It is just hard work, and my teammates did a good job of looking for me. I just kept missing free throws. I don't know what was going on with that."

On the value of having such a deep bench ...
"It means a lot. You have no excuse not to go as hard as you can when you are out there on the floor. Coach really emphasizes that whenever you are out on the floor to just go as hard as you can, and that you have got someone else coming in after you that is just as good. Those guys will play as hard as they can and help to get you right back in."

Guard Pierre Jackson

On the amount of energy the second unit brings into the game...
"We have to come out and just play as if we started the game. Just try to get the crowd into it, and try to get our team going."

On the team switching into a man-to-man defense...
"It was just the personnel we had in. We had a bunch of long fast defenders and me and Deuce (Bello) like to play on the ball, so I guess coach just threw it in there. Coach gets after us every day that we are on the ball so we just get out there and try to speed up the offense and defense and try to get a few easy fast break points."

 Head Coach Gravelle Craig

On the tempo of the game...
"We know they play a lot of zone, so we prepared for the zone really well, then they switched back to man. That's the most man (defense) I have seen them play in a long time. Playing man picked up the tempo for them a little bit and made us speed up a little bit so we couldn't control the tempo like we wanted. It was a good move by Coach Drew."

On the play atmosphere...
"It was pretty good. It was a chance for our guys to play in a nice arena in front of a big crowd. It was a good crowd tonight. I thought the environment was good for our guys."

On Baylor's size...
"They are long. There isn't a lot you could do about it sometimes when you go up for a rebound together and he goes up for a rebound, goes over your back without going over your back or he tips it out. Length is definitely a factor."

Forward Garrius Holloman

On Baylor's size...
"We knew coming in that we would be undersized. I played here last year, so I saw that they were 6-11, 6-10, 6-9 across the board. We just came in trying to be physical, trying to bang with them."

Guard Ricky Johnson

On playing against Baylor's guards...
"It was a good experience. They competed real hard and made me play hard, so I felt like I got better after this game."
