 Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening Statement:
"I think we had some good practice days and some good leadership. I thought the upper classmen really stepped up the intensity in practice and are trying to get our team better and I think it showed tonight. I thought we played one of, if not, our best team games. I thought everybody who came in contributed. I thought the bench was outstanding."

On coming back from an early deficit:
"We didn't panic and we didn't start taking bad shots and trying to get it all back. We didn't start gambling and allowing them to score more. I thought we just tightened up and it starts at the point guard spot. I thought Pierre (Jackson) was really good defensively and was able to pressure. "

On trying to contain BYU offensively:
"I thought Cory Jefferson did an outstanding job. I mean with 16 rebounds. A big emphasis was that BYU is just so good from the 3-point line and you are going to give up something when the whole team can score inside and outside and we wanted to make Davies (Brandon) work on his, but we didn't want to let them go 7-for-12 or 10-for-20 from three. I thought holding them 2-for-12 was a tremendous effort with the shooters they have."

 Junior Guard Gary Franklin

On his roll off the bench:
"I think going over film this week really provided me with information on exactly what I needed to do to come in and help the team win this game. It helped make my role a lot more clear and that gave me a lot of confidence and I knew exactly what I needed to do when I came in."

On his defense on Tyler Haws:
"He is a great player. Obviously watching A.J. Walton and how well he plays defense I learned a lot of things from him. I saw things that maybe A.J. wasn't doing. He was using his hands a lot early and I was able to talk to him about it in the locker room during the half time and tell him basically what I was doing in the first half was giving him a lot of body early which pushed him out and made his shots a lot harder and a lot more difficult."

 Senior Guard Pierre Jackson

On how Baylor was able to come back in this game from a slow start:
"I really don't think we got too rattled at all. Just capitalizing on the opportunities that we got we were able to make our run and get back into the game."

On how the team got on a 22-2 run:
"We just got more focused and stepped up the intensity on defense. Coach speaks that a lot and he says it starts with me up top. Just try to turn their point guard out of control or make him think too much and try to get some loose balls and some turnovers."

 Junior Forward Cory Jefferson

On how Baylor was able to be successful rebounding:
"They are a good rebounding team and we knew that coming in. They also out-rebounded us last year so that was something we really wanted to focus on for this game and make sure that didn't happen again. We went over different things in practice and we did a few different drills to get our bigs better. I think everything leading up to this day just helped us rebound."

 Head Coach Dave Rose

Opening statement:
"I thought that we had a really good game plan, and I thought that our guys were really prepared. In the first 10 minutes of the game, I thought that we played tough. We got the ball to the basket and scored and did a good job defensively. We had a couple of defensive breakdowns and they had a couple of easy baskets off of turnovers and offensive rebounds. We made a few shots, but they caught us. We were never really the same after that. Give all the credit to Coach Drew and his team. They played great the last 25 minutes of the game. They have a really good team that will do well this season."

On the change in the game after the technical foul:
"You have to recover from negative plays. I think that made a difference in making the crowd get into the game. What sticks with me is a couple of missed shots where we had rebounds, but we either fell down or had the ball stripped. Those are the things that are kind of discouraging and let their fans back in the game."

On Baylor's 21-2 run to end the first half:
"For our team, we got into a little foul trouble. We had a couple of guys on the bench in foul trouble. There are things that we can learn from that. It was obviously a huge difference in the game. At one point we were up by 11 and ended up being down by nine at the half. It was an unfortunate run."

 Senior Forward Brandon Davies

On Baylor taking the momentum late in the first half:
"They just battled. All game long it was a fight. They put a lot more pressure on us when they came out of the timeout and got three stops in a row. We had a couple of careless turnovers. We had plays that we needed to make, but didn't."

On the 22-10 run by Baylor to end the game:
"Defensively, they picked it up. You have to give Baylor a lot of credit. We had a lot of good looks and I missed a lot of easy shots. They took us out of our comfort zone and forced us to take tough shots."

 Sophomore Guard Tyler Haws

On Baylor's defense:
"I came out with two fouls about 10 minutes left in the first half. I felt like I got the right shots in the second half, but didn't make them. I missed a lot of easy ones and had some dumb turnovers. Give credit to them defensively. They hit the shots that they needed to and played hard to win."

On the momentum shift after the technical foul:
"That sparked a big run. We have to score consistently and do a better job of making easy shots. We really needed to score consistently."
