Complete Big 12 Weekly Award Winners Release

IRVING, Texas - Baylor men's basketball juniors LaceDarius Dunn and Ekpe Udoh were named Phillips 66 Big 12 Co-Player and Co-Rookie of the Week, respectively, for Dec. 27-Jan. 3 in voting by a panel of media covering the conference. Dunn shares his weekly honor with Kansas' Cole Aldrich and Udoh with Iowa State's Marquis Gilstrap.

It the second weekly award for both players this season and the fourth of Dunn's career. Monday marks the first time that Baylor has won both awards the same week in the league's 14-year history.

Dunn led the Bears in scoring in both of their road victories over the SEC last week, averaging 20.0 points and 4.0 rebounds, while shooting 53.3 percent from 3-point range (8-of-15). He scored a game-high 19 points in Baylor's 70-47 win at Arkansas (Dec. 30) and followed with a game-high 21 points and a season-high seven rebounds in the 85-74 win at South Carolina (Jan. 2). Dunn, who leads Baylor in scoring at 17.8 points per game), now ranks 11th all-time at Baylor with 1,248 career points.

Udoh continued his dominating rookie campaign at Baylor, averaging 10.0 points, 17.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 5.0 blocks last week. The Edmond, Okla., native scored eight points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked eight shots in Baylor's road win at Arkansas. He became the first player in school history to post 15-plus rebounds and six-plus blocks in back-to-back games (16 rebounds, nine blocks vs. UTA, Dec. 20).

Last Saturday at South Carolina, Udoh recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 12 points and a career-high 20 rebounds in the 11-point win. His 20 rebounds are the most in the Big 12 the season and the most by a Baylor player since Kevin Rogers had 20 vs. Nebraska in the 2009 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City. His 49 blocked shots is tied for sixth on Baylor's single-season list and he leads the Big 12 in both rebounding average and blocked shots per game.

Baylor (11-1) has one more out-of-conference test before Big 12 play begins when the Bears host the Morgan State Bears Wednesday at 7 p.m. CST in the Ferrell Center. Baylor will then open Big 12 play at home Saturday against the Oklahoma Sooners at 5 p.m. CST on the Big 12 Network. Tickets for both games may be purchased by calling the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office at 254.710.1000 or at www.BaylorBears.com.
