WACO, Texas - Baylor's Lawrence Roberts has been honored as a second-team National Association of Basketball Coaches/Pontiac Division I All-District 9 selection. The freshman forward was one of 10 students-athletes named to the District 9 teams, as selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC.

Roberts, a true freshman, has compiled six double-doubles, been named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week and to the San Juan Shootout all-tournament team and ranks fifth nationally in rebounding average among freshman with an 8.2 average. He ranks eighth in the Big 12 Conference in scoring, sixth in rebounding, third in steals and ninth in blocks.

The Houston, Texas, native leads the team in several categories, including: scoring (16.3), rebounds (8.2), blocks (28), field goals (132), free throws made (105) and free throws attempted (152). The Houston, Texas, native is also second on the team in steals (43).

The NABC selected 150 student-athletes from 15 districts, all of whom are now eligible for the NABC/Pontiac Division I All-America Team which will be announced at the conclusion of the season.
