Senior forward Terry Black was tabbed "Best Dunker" in college basketball by
The Sporting News in the magazine's Jan. 6 issue and has been selected for
the 13th annual College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Basketball Championships
during the NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis.
To share his talents with those who can't make it to every game, the folks
at Inside Baylor Sports and GoBaylorBears.com have hooked up to provide a
Terry Black dunk highlight reel, showcasing some of Black's more athletic
dunks from the 2000-01 season.
Black's talent goes deeper than highlight-reel dunks, though. Black has led
the team in scoring this season and ranks among the Big 12 Conference
leaders in rebounding average. He ranks among the top three Baylor career
leaders in steals, along with NBA stars David Wesley and Michael Williams.
In just his second season at Baylor, Black is a co-captain and one of two
seniors on the team. Black has started every game of his Baylor career and
was a preseason All-Big 12 selection. Black was named in preseason
publications as the Big 12's "Top Defensive Player" (Preview Sports
magazine), "Best Leaper" (The Sporting News), and most "Underrated" (Athlon
Sports).
