Kenny Chery and Cory Jefferson have guided Baylor to wins in seven of its last eight games.

NEW YORK - Baylor's Cory Jefferson and Kenny Chery picked up All-Big 12 honors from the Associated Press on Monday. Jefferson was named to the second team, while Chery was named honorable mention in a vote by selected media members who cover the Big 12 Conference.
Jefferson's selection marks the third straight season the Bears have had a player named to the media's second team. Pierre Jackson and Perry Jones III were on the 2012 second team, and Isaiah Austin was selected in 2013. The Bears' four second-team honors over the last three seasons equals their number of selections from the league's first 15 seasons.
A fifth-year senior from Killeen, Texas, Jefferson was an honorable mention choice as a junior last season. He joins Curtis Jerrells and Jones III as the only players in program history to be named to the media's first or second team a year after being an honorable mention choice.
Jefferson leads the Bears with 13.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in 28.5 minutes per game this season. He has started 68 consecutive games, and his 1.4 blocks per game rank second on the team and sixth in the Big 12. Jefferson also ranks 15th in the league in scoring and fourth in rebounding.
Chery, a junior from Montreal, Quebec, was named honorable mention All-Big 12 by the AP on the same day he was selected as the CBSSports.com National Player of the Week. He ranks second on the team with 11.7 points per game and leads the squad with 5.0 assists per contest. Chery ranks second in the Big 12 with an .867 free throw percentage, third in assists per game and third with a 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Chery's return to the starting lineup following a turf toe injury has sparked the Bears' 7-1 run to close the regular season. In addition to recording the sixth triple-double in program history against Kansas State on Feb. 15, he's also averaged 20.3 points per game over the Bears' last four contests, including a career-high 29 points in Saturday's win at Kansas State.
No. 7 seed Baylor takes on No. 10 TCU at 8:30 p.m. CT Wednesday first round action at the 2014 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship. The game will be televised on Big 12 Network from Kansas City's Sprint Center.
