STORY LINES
• NNo. 3 seed (28-7) Baylor will look to make its second Sweet 16 appearance in program history Saturday against No. 11 seed Colorado (24-11). Saturday's game will tip at approximately 7:40 p.m. CDT on TNT.
• Baylor and Colorado, the automatic qualifier from the Pac-12 Conference, will meet for the first time since the Buffaloes left the Big 12 Conference following the 2010-11 season. Baylor is 9-15 all-time against Colorado, including a 1-4 mark on a neutral court.
• Saturday will be the second NCAA Championship meeting between the schools. In 1946, Colorado upended Baylor 59-44 in the NCAA West Regional third-place game held in Kansas City, Mo.
• Baylor's 28 wins are tied with the 2009-10 squad for the most in school history.
• 2012 is Baylor's fourth modern tournament era NCAA appearance (post-1950). Baylor's first three tournament appearances -- 1946, 1948 and 1950 -- were in an eight-team bracket.
• Nine Baylor opponents made the Field of 68 and Baylor is 10-7 this season against the 2012 NCAA Championship field - Texas (2-0), Iowa State (1-1), Kansas State (2-1), Missouri (0-3), Kansas (1-2), West Virginia (1-0), BYU (1-0), Saint Mary's (1-0), San Diego State (1-0). • Baylor is 7-8 in seven NCAA Championship appearances (4-3 in modern tournament era).
• 2012 is Baylor's fourth NCAA berth in the modern tournament era (first three NCAA appearances in 1946, 1948 and 1950 were in an eight-team bracket).
• Baylor has played in two Final Fours (1948 and 1950) -- when it was an eight-team bracket -- and one national championship game (lost to Kentucky in 1948 title game).
• Nine Baylor opponents made the Field of 68 and Baylor is 10-7 this season against the 2012 NCAA Tournament field - Texas (2-0), Iowa State (1-1), Kansas State (2-1), Missouri (0-3), Kansas (1-2), West Virginia (1-0), BYU (1-0), Saint Mary's (1-0), San Diego State (1-0).
• Baylor and South Dakota State met for the first time Thursday; Baylor knocked off the Jackrabbits 68-60.

• Four current players on the Baylor roster have previous NCAA ¬¬Championship experience - Quincy Acy, Fred Ellis, Cory Jefferson, Anthony Jones and A.J. Walton were members on Baylor's 2010 NCAA Elite Eight team. Fred Ellis was a redshirt on Baylor's 2008 NCAA tournament team. Senior J'mison Morgan, who is redshirting this season, was on the 2008-09 UCLA team that lost in the second round to Villanova.
• Baylor's No. 3 seed is the South Region is tied for the highest NCAA tournament seed in program history. In 2010, Baylor was also a No. 3 seed in the South Region and advanced to the Elite Eight.

DREW IN THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP
Scott Drew is no stranger to the NCAA Championship. Saturday will be Drew's seventh NCAA tournament game as head coach (all at Baylor); he is 4-2 in six career tournament games as head coach.
• Drew was a major factor in Valparaiso's six NCAA appearances (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002) while an assistant on his father Homer's staff. Valpo gained fame for its Cinderella run to the 1998 Sweet Sixteen, highlighted by one of the famous shots in NCAA Championship history: a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer by Scott's younger brother Bryce Drew that beat Ole Miss in a first-round game in Oklahoma City.

NO SUCH THING AS A BAD LOSS
• All seven of Baylor's losses this season have come against teams in the 2012 NCAA Championship field -- Jan. 16 at Kansas (74-92), Jan. 21 vs. Missouri (88-89), Feb. 8 vs. Kansas (54-68), Feb. 11 at Missouri (57-72), Feb. 18 vs. Kansas State (56-57), March 3 at Iowa State (72-80) and March 10 vs. Missouri (75-90).

A BAYLOR POSTSEASON FIRST
Scott Drew is the first head coach in program history to lead Baylor to four postseason appearances -- 2008 NCAA, 2009 NIT, 2010 NCAA and 2012 NCAA. Drew is also only the second head coach in program history to lead Baylor to three NCAA postseason appearances (Bill Henderson led Baylor to 1946, 1948 and 1950 NCAA appearances).
• Drew has more postseason wins (four) in the last three seasons than Baylor had as a program (three) in its first 103 seasons.

SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday will be the 25th series meeting, the second in the NCAA Championship and the first since Colorado left the Big 12 Conference following the 2010-11 season. Colorado leads the all-time series 15-9, but Baylor has won four of the last six meetings overall.
• In its only NCAA Championship meeting, Baylor lost 59-44 in the 1946 NCAA West Regional third-place game in Kansas City, Mo. -- that meeting was also the first in the series.

SERIES NOTES: In its last regular-season meeting as Big 12 rivals, Baylor overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to beat Colorado 70-66 in Waco (Jan. 29, 2011) ... LaceDarius Dunn had 26 points, while Perry Jones III added 14 points and 6 rebounds ... Playing its first game as a ranked team in 2009-10, No. 22 Baylor was upset 78-71 in Boulder ... Ekpe Udoh had 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in the loss, while Dunn had 23 points ... In its 2009 meeting in Waco, Curtis Jerrells scored 24 of his 29 points in the second half to lift Baylor to a 75-57 win ...Colorado, a No. 12 seed in the 2008 Big 12 Championship, upset No. 5 seed Baylor 91-84 in double OT ...
