WACO, Texas - Baylor senior forward Terry Black will participate in the 13th College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Basketball Championships during the NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis. The event, which will take place at Concordia University-St. Paul's Gangelhoff Center, will be televised on ESPN Saturday, March 31, beginning at 12:30 p.m. CST, the day of the NCAA semifinals.

ESPN's Dick Vitale and Brad Nessler will be courtside for the two-hour telecast, produced by Intersport Television. The Intersport event is in its 13th year and has become a college basketball tradition, showcasing the finest collegiate sharp-shooters and high-risers in the country. The event begins with the men's 3-point contest followed by the women's 3-point shootout. The slam dunk contest follows and the night concludes with the Battle of the Sexes, a 3-point shootout between the men's and women's champion from earlier in the evening.

Black will compete against seven other dunkers from across the country including Kenny Gregory (Kansas), Jeff Trepagnier (USC), Marques Maybin (Louisville), Michael Williams (Old Dominian), Horace Jenkins (William Patterson), Jonathan Beerbohn (Boston College) and Schin Kerr (Loyola Chicago).

Black posted six double-doubles in 31 games and led the Bears to a 19-12 record and their first postseason appearance in 12 years. He was the team's leading scorer with a 15.4 scoring average and led the Big 12 with a rebounding average of 8.4. In just his second season at Baylor, Black was a co-captain and one of two seniors on the team. Black started every game of his Baylor career and was named a consensus first team All-Big 12 player (coaches and associated press), as well as a first team All-District 9 member. On Feb. 19, he was named Big 12 Player of the Week. Black was named the "Best Dunker" in college basketball by The Sporting News, and he was also tabbed in preseason publications as the Big 12's "Top Defensive Player" (Preview Sports magazine), "Best Leaper" (The Sporting News), and most "Underrated" (Athlon Sports).

Former College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships participants include NBA stars such as Tom Gugliotta, Eddie Jones, Gary Payton and Damon Stoudamire. Last year's contestants now playing in the NBA are A.J.
