WACO, Texas - Quincy Miller, the 2012 Big Co-Freshman of the Year, will return to Baylor University for his sophomore season. Miller made the announcement Tuesday night during No. 8 Baylor's non-conference baseball game against ULM at Baylor Ballpark.
Miller became the first Baylor player to earn conference freshman of the year honors since 1995, when Brian Skinner was the Southwest Conference Freshman of the Year. The Chicago, Ill., product averaged 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 37 games, making 35 starts. In addition to Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year honors from the league coaches, Miller was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year by Sporting News. He was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection and a unanimous Big 12 All-Rookie choice by the league coaches.
Miller's announcement comes one day after teammate Perry Jones III declared for the 2012 NBA Draft. Follow the Official Twitter feed of Baylor Basketball, @BaylorMBB.
