WACO, Texas - Baylor men's basketball has signed point guard Kenny Chery to a National Letter of Intent for the 2013-14 season, head coach Scott Drew announced Wednesday. Chery gives the Bears a four-player signing class for next season.

Chery, a 6-foot point guard who will have two years of eligibility at Baylor, earned NJCAA honorable mention All-America honors as a sophomore at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Mo. He earned All-Region 16 honors in both his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Roadrunners. Chery is ranked No. 15 nationally in the 2013 junior college signing class by and No. 18 nationally by

"Kenny Chery will be a great addition to Baylor Nation," head coach Scott Drew said. "He's an outstanding student, young man and leader."

A Montreal, Canada, native, Chery averaged 16.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 26 games played as a sophomore in 2012-13. He shot 49.4% from the field, knocked down 44.6% of his 3-point attempts and connected on 76.2% of his free throws. He finished the year strong, averaging 22.0 points per game over his final seven contests during February and March.

Chery attended Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C., and he was a member of the 2010 Canadian Junior Men's National Team.

"Kenny has a lot of basketball experience from the Canadian National Team and his two years at State Fair Community College, which will help will his transition to the Big 12," Drew said. "He's a versatile guard who can score in a lot of different ways."

With Chery's addition, Baylor has a four-member 2013 signing class. Ishmail Wainright (Raytown, Mo.), Dominic Woodson (Round Rock, Texas) and Johnathan Motley (Houston, Texas) are all top-100 nationally ranked recruits who will join the Bears after completing their high school careers.
