2010-11 Baylor Men's Basketball Schedule

Full Big 12 Conference Release and 2011 Composite Schedule

WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s basketball will play 10 Big 12 Conference games on the ESPN family of networks in 2011, the league office announced Tuesday. Three others will be featured on the Big 12 Network, while the three remaining games could be picked up in the near future.

Combined with Baylor’s non-conference schedule released late last month, the Bears will play a Ferrell Center record-tying 18 home games during the 2010-11 season. Baylor, which won a school-record 28 games and advanced to the 2010 Elite Eight, could face as many as 15 teams that appeared in either the NCAA Tournament or NIT last season, including eight from the Big 12.

Baylor will also play five non-conference games on the ESPN family of networks – Dec. 2 vs. Arizona State (ESPN2), Dec. 18 vs. Gonzaga (ESPN2) and Dec. 22-25 at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic (ESPN2/ESPNU). Earlier this summer, the Big 12 Conference announced that Baylor will be feature on the Big 12/ESPN Big Monday platform twice in 2011 – Jan. 17 vs. Kansas and Jan. 24 at Kansas State.

For the first time since 2007, Baylor opens conference play on the road when the Bears visit 2010 NIT participant Texas Tech for an ESPNU telecast on Jan. 8. After hosting Oklahoma for its Big 12 home opener on Jan. 12, Baylor travels to Ames, Iowa, to face Iowa State on Jan. 15. The Ferrell Center will be the site of the third ESPN Big Monday telecast in the facility’s 23-year history when the Bears host Kansas for an 8:30 p.m. CT tilt on Jan. 17. The Bears host Oklahoma State (Jan. 22) before facing Kansas State (Jan. 24) for their second ESPN Big 12 Monday contest in two weeks.

The Bears will look to avenge last season’s loss in Boulder when they host the Colorado Buffaloes on Jan. 29 to conclude the month of January. Baylor’s remaining four conference home games are Nebraska (Feb. 9), Texas Tech (Feb. 19), Texas A&M (Feb. 26) and Texas (March 5). Baylor’s final five conference road games will air on ESPN or ESPN2 – Feb. 1 at Oklahoma (ESPN2), Feb. 5 at Texas A&M, Feb. 12 at Texas, Feb. 23 at Missouri (ESPN2) and March 1 at Oklahoma State (ESPN2).

The 2011 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship will be held March 9-12, 2011, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Television information for the remainder of Baylor’s 2010-11 schedule will be released later this summer. Fans interested in season tickets may call the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office at (254) 710-1000 for more information.
