WACO, Texas - Baylor men's basketball will be featured as part of ESPN's seventh-annual 24-hour college basketball Tip-Off Marathon, the network announced Monday. The Bears' Nov. 18 game at South Carolina will tip off at 11 a.m. CT and air on ESPN.
This will be the fifth time Baylor has been featured in the marathon, and the Bears are undefeated in their four previous appearances. BU defeated Centenary in 2008, La Salle in 2010, San Diego State in 2011 and South Carolina in 2013. All four previous marathon games were at the Ferrell Center, but this year's will be in Columbia, S.C., at Colonial Life Arena.
Additionally, the Baylor women's basketball team will participate in the marathon when it travels to face Kentucky in Lexington at 6 p.m. CT on Nov. 17.
The Big 12 Conference portion of Baylor's schedule is expected to be announced later this month. BU has non-conference home games against McNeese State (Nov. 14), Prairie View A&M (Nov. 21), Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 24), Texas Southern (Dec. 1), Texas A&M (Dec. 9), New Mexico State (Dec. 17), Southern (Dec. 22) and Norfolk State (Dec. 30).
In addition to the Tip-Off Marathon game at South Carolina, the Bears also play on the road at Vanderbilt (Dec. 4) and head to Las Vegas for the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational, where they'll face Memphis (Nov. 27) and either Illinois or Indiana State (Nov. 28).
The game at Vanderbilt will be televised on one of the ESPN networks as part of the SEC-Big 12 Challenge, while the home game against Texas A&M will be on ESPN2 and the Las Vegas games will air on FS1. All Baylor men's basketball games will be televised for the second straight season, with the majority on ESPN networks and others on the Bears' third-tier network, Baylor Vision on FOX Sports.
