WACO, Texas - Baylor men's basketball will host La Salle as part of ESPN's third annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Tue., Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN and ESPN3.com.
The Bears and Explorers will be one of 12 live college basketball games in 24 consecutive hours on ESPN for the second straight season. Overall, ESPN's celebration of the opening of the college basketball season will include 20 live games - 19 men's and one women's - in a minimum of 25.5 hours across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. ESPN3.com will offer two exclusive games as well as a simulcast of every ESPN and ESPN2 telecast. The 24-hour marathon kicks off at Mon., Nov. 15, at 11 p.m. CT when the Miami Hurricanes face the Memphis Tigers on ESPN.
Baylor's women's team, which advanced to the 2010 NCAA Women's Final Four in San Antonio, will also be featured during the Tip-Off Marathon. The Lady Bears will face defending national champion UConn at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
The 2010-11 season marks the second time Baylor will be included in ESPN's College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon. In 2008, the Bears routed the Centenary Gents, 90-55, in an afternoon contest in the Ferrell Center.
This will be the fourth meeting - and first since Dec. 10, 1994 - in the brief series with La Salle holding a 3-0 advantage.
Baylor, which won a school-record 28 games and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2010, will play 16 games on the ESPN family of networks during the 2010-11 season. The Bears return All-American candidate LaceDarius Dunn, who is on pace to break both the Baylor and Big 12 career scoring records. Dunn (1,739 points) needs 451 points to surpass Terry Teagle (2,189) as the school's all-time leading scorer.
Fans interested in season tickets may call the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office at (254) 710-1000 or log onto www.BaylorBears.com.
