Baylor-Centenary Game Included in ESPN's 'College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon'

WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's basketball game against Centenary College at the Ferrell Center will be included as part of ESPN's `College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon' on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The network announced the 23-hour branding initiative publicly Wednesday. The Bears and Gents will tip off at 3 p.m. CST on ESPN and ESPN360.com as the seventh game of the 14-game telecast schedule. Baylor also announced that its home game with South Carolina on Jan. 2 will tip at 4:30 p.m. CT on FSN Southwest. With the addition of the Centenary and USC games, a school-record 25 games will be televised at the regional and national levels, including 11 on the ESPN family of networks. ESPN will celebrate the start of the 2008-09 college basketball season with the new `College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon' featuring 23 consecutive hours of live college basketball game and studio programming. The new creative way to mark the opening of the season will begin at midnight EST (11 p.m. CST) with a tripleheader of live games - UMass at Memphis, followed by Fresno State at St. Mary's (Calif.) at 2 a.m. (1 a.m. CST) and Idaho State at Hawai`i at 4 a.m. (3 a.m. CST). Coverage will conclude with Kentucky at North Carolina at 9 p.m. (8 p.m. CST). ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will offer 33 total hours of coverage overall highlighted by 14 game telecasts.
