Moonlight Madness Set for Oct. 12

Baylor players will compete in slam dunk and 3-point contests.

WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's and women's basketball teams will host Moonlight Madness at 8:30 p.m CT on Friday, Oct. 12 at the Ferrell Center. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and admission is free.

Baylor will be one of 14 sites featured during more than four hours of ESPNU national coverage. ESPN commentator Fran Fraschilla will be reporting live from the Ferrell Center, as the ESPNU studio will provide fans with a "whip-around" look at highlighted teams coast-to-coast from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The madness coverage will extend into its final hour on ESPNU's nightly entertainment show, UNITE, with its inaugural Midnight Madness Special.

"The Baylor women are more than capable of putting together a game-changing streak and going 40-0 in consecutive seasons. Brittney Griner is the most dominant women's player in the game by far," ESPN basketball analyst Andy Katz said. "The Baylor men still have a stable of talent off an Elite Eight team, especially in the backcourt with Pierre Jackson and Brady Heslip, to be a factor in the Big 12.''

Baylor players will participate in slam dunk and 3-point contests, among numerous other activities. There will also be various giveaways for fans in attendance, and details on those promotions will be announced at a later date.

Season tickets are on sale starting at $150 for men's tickets and $125 for women's tickets. Call the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office at 254-710-1000, or visit for more information.
