GAME NIGHT STORY LINES
After back-to-back trips to the West Coast, the 22nd-ranked Baylor Bears return home for a seven-game homestand, beginning Saturday with the Prairie View A&M Panthers. Tip off is set for 2:05 p.m. on FSN Southwest and ESPN360.com.
Prairie View A&M is Baylor's second of three SWAC opponents this season. Baylor is 9-0 all-time vs. Prairie View A&M -- all meetings have been in Waco.
Baylor moved up two spots to No. 22 in this week's AP Top 25 Poll. The Bears have been ranked in back-to-back polls for the second time in school history. Monday's No. 22 ranking is the highest of the Scott Drew Era.
Baylor is now 3-3 all-time when ranked in the AP Top 25. Saturday's win at WSU was its first as a top 25 team since its epic 116-110 five-overtime win at Texas A&M on Jan. 23, 2008.
Saturday's win in Pullman snapped Washington State 14-game home non-conference winning streak at Friel Court, dating back to the 2004-05 season.
LaceDarius Dunn extended his consecutive games streak with making at least one 3-point field goal to 13 games, dating back to March 1, 2008. It is the 11th-longest such streak since 1986 at Baylor, tying his own streak he set last season.
Dunn and Curtis Jerrells have scored in double figures in 11 and 10 consecutive games, respectively, dating back to last season.
During its last five games, Baylor is shooting 72.5 percent (95-of-131) from the free throw line, nearly 75 points higher than its average after the first three games (65.1 percent, 56-of-86).
Seniors Henry Dugat and Kevin Rogers are closing in on the career 1,000-point club at Baylor.Dugat (958) and Rogers (950) would become the 21st and 22nd players, respectively, to reach the milestone, joining teammate Curtis Jerrells (1,315), who is currently eighth all-time in scoring.
Kevin Rogers was held scoreless in Saturday's win at Washington State - his first career scoreless outing and the first since March 1, 2006, vs. Texas Tech (his freshman season).
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's meeting is the 10th in the series - all 10 in Waco.
Baylor has scored 100 or more points in the last two meetings, beating Prairie View A&M by an average margin of 39.5 points.
Baylor is 9-0 all-time vs. Prairie View A&M and 31-0 against SWAC schools. Earlier this season, Baylor delivered an 85-43 drubbing to the Southern Jaguars in Waco.
Baylor will play a third SWAC opponent -- Jackson State -- on New Year's Eve at home.
PRAIRIE VIEW A&M SCOUTING REPORT
Prairie View A&M will face only its sixth NCAA opponent this season when the Panthers travel to Waco to face the Bears Saturday.
PVAM fell to 3-5 last Monday after a 78-70 loss at Hawai`i. Derek Johnson led the Panthers with 18 points. Christopher Jones added 14 points and three assists.
PVAM is 0-5 vs. Division I schools this season (UCLA, Weber State, Missouri, Wyoming, Hawai`i) and 3-0 vs. non-NCAA schools (Champions Baptist, Ecclesia College, Southwest Assemblies of God), losing by an average margin of 14.2 points. The Panthers have lost its last two games by less than 10 points.
LAST SERIES MEETING - BAYLOR 108, PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 71 [DEC. 29, 2007]
Tweety Carter scored 22 points and Henry Dugat had 20 to lead six Baylor players in double figures in a 108-71 victory against Prairie View A&M on Saturday night.
Carter and Dugat combined for nine 3-pointers for Baylor, which made a season-high 15 from 3-point range.
Curtis Jerrells added 16 points for the Bears, Aaron Bruce had 12 and Delbert Simpson and LaceDarius Dunn scored 10 each.
Aaron Smith scored 12 for Prairie View and Derek Johnson had 11. Johnson was the only Panther to make more than three field goals.
Jerrells and Carter scored 10 points each in the first half as Baylor led 50-31 at halftime. Prairie View trailed by just four at 21-17 with 10:09 left in the half before Carter and Bruce started and finished a 12-2 run with 3-pointers for a 33-19 Baylor lead with 6:22 to play.
Baylor held a 72-47 lead with 12:11 left in the game when a 3-pointer by Dunn sparked a 9-0 run that included a pair of inside baskets by Simpson and dunks by Jerrells and Kevin Rogers, who finished with nine points.
The Bears had season highs in points, assists (23) and steals (17).
LAST TIME OUT - (24) BAYLOR 58, WSU 52 [BIG 12/PAC-10 HARDWOOD SERIES]
Baylor beat Washington State at its own game, slowing down the tempo and making the Cougars struggle for every basket. Washington State shot just 37 percent, while Baylor was making just 40 percent.
LaceDarius Dunn led Baylor with 14 points, Curtis Jerrells had 13, and Henry Dugat and Tweety Carter had 12 each.
Washington State, which lost at home for the first time this season, got 14 points each from Daven Harmeling and Aron Baynes. The Cougars were hurt by making just 12 of 19 free throws, while Baylor made 21 of 25.
Baylor is now 3-3 all-time when ranked in the AP Top 25.
Baylor wore its road green uniforms for the first time in 262 days, dating back to its 2008 NCAA Tournament first round game vs. Purdue.

UP NEXT - UT ARLINGTON [DEC. 20]
Baylor will take a break from competition while finishing final exams, but the Bears return to the court Dec. 20 vs. UT Arlington. The game is set for 8:30 p.m. because of Baylor Graduation earlier that day.
Baylor is 10-1 all-time vs. UTA and 64-20 vs. the Southland.
Next Saturday will be the first meeting in the series since Nov. 21, 2001. Baylor has won the last four meetings.
LOOKING AHEAD - BAYLOR CONTINUES HOMESTAND
Shortly after hosting UT Arlington, Baylor will welcome America East Conference member Hartford Monday, Dec. 22, at the Ferrell Center. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. on FSN Southwest.
Baylor and Hartford have never met and the Hawks will be the first America East school the Bears have played.
In September, the Baylor Bears men's golf team won the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
WHO'S WEARING NUMBER 1?
If you followed Baylor football this season, number 1 on the Baylor basketball bench should look very familiar. Freshman impact receiver and hoops walk-on Kendall Wright is scheduled to make his basketball debut Saturday vs. Prairie View A&M.
The high school multi-sport star caught a team-best 50 passes for 649 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie for Baylor.
1,000-POINT CLUB WILL WELCOME TWO NEW MEMBERS SOON
Last season, Curtis Jerrells became the 20th player in school history to score 1,000 career points and, this season, he is steadily climbing the career charts and should finish his career in the top six in scoring.
This season, senior classmates Henry Dugat and Kevin Rogers are closing in on the career milestone. Dugat (958) and Rogers (950) need 42 and 50 points, respectively, to become the 1,000-point club's newest members.
Next season, the club could grow even more with Tweety Carter (615) and LaceDarius Dunn (549).
KNOCKIN' THEM DOWN
After a sluggish start to the season at the free throw line, the Bears have regrouped over the last four games. BU is shooting 73.7 percent (87-of-118) from the free throw line in the last four games after shooting 64.6 percent (64-of-99) in the first four games.
Baylor's improvement at the free throw line can be attributed to its four-best free throw shooters -- LaceDarius Dunn, Curtis Jerrells, Henry Dugat and Tweety Carter.

PLAYING WAZZOU'S GAME BETTER
Baylor scored a season-low 58 points, while holding Washington State to a season-low 52 points to eek out a six-point win in Pullman Saturday night.
That was Baylor's lowest point total since the Bears scored 57 in a 71-57 home loss to Texas A&M last season.
It was only the second win for the Bears when scoring less than 60 points in the Scott Drew Era. BU is 2-27 under Drew when scoring less than 50 points. Baylor's only other sub-60 win was a 59-56 victory over Delaware State in 2006.
BAYLOR IN THE AP POLL
Baylor cracked the AP Top 25 Poll last week for the first time this season, coming in at No. 24. Last Monday's ranking marks the first time that Baylor is ranked in back-to-back seasons and is the highest ranking since the Bears were No. 19 on Feb. 11, 1969 (then the AP Top 20).
Baylor jumped into the Top 25 for the first time this season, receiving 272 points - nine behind No. 23 Florida and 51 ahead of No. 25 Marquette.
Baylor's Top 25 ranking caps off a 3-1 week that saw the Bears defeat Jacksonville, Providence and No. 14 Arizona State. Sunday, the Bears suffered a tough 87-74 loss to No. 19 Wake Forest in the 76 Classic championship game.
Last season, Baylor was ranked in back-to-back weeks for the first time in school history, while breaking into the Top 25 for the first time in nearly 40 seasons.
The Bears have never been ranked in the preseason or final AP polls.
BU has not been ranked in the Top 20 since Feb. 11, 1969 (No. 19).
BU is 3-3 all-time when ranked.
