Powerful second-year sophomore defensive lineman... Entered starting lineup in final two games of 2013 Big 12 championship season, penciled as starting nose tackle heading into fall camp... Local phenom from Waco High School, former national top 200 recruit... Projected 2014 preseason All-Big 12 by Athlon (second team) and Phil Steele (third team)... Accomplished weightlifter, broke 22-year-old Texas prep state meet record with 2,010 pound effort (805 squat, 500 bench, 705 dead lift) in 2012 -- previous record was held by Mark Henry... Team-best 690-pound squat, team-best 400-pound clean lift... Timed at 4.97 in 40-yard dash.

2013 (True Freshman): Played in 11 of 13 games, started twice, as true freshman defensive tackle, one of five true freshmen on squad to play... Earned first career letter... Totaled 29 tackles (17 solo), 3.5 for loss of eight yards, and three QB hurries on season... Recorded at least one tackle in all 13 games... Saw first collegiate action in season-opening win over Wofford, but injured ankle, finished with two solo tackles as reserve... Sat out second game (Buffalo) while recuperating... Returned to action and had two-yard tackle-for-loss in backup role in win over ULM in third game... Did not play fourth game (West Virginia), but played final nine games of season, started final two... Made two stops and had career-first QB hurry in win over Iowa State in sixth game...
