Regular special teams player, saw snaps from scrimmage as cornerback in two games - second week vs. Northwestern State and third game vs. Washington State.
2007 (Redshirt Freshman): As redshirt freshman cornerback, saw action in nine games on Bears' special team units... Credited with two tackles (one solo)... Had solo tackle at Buffalo and assisted stop at No. 20 Kansas... Played 85 snaps, all on special teams, to earn first letter.
2006 (True Freshman): Joined program as walk-on and sat out year as redshirt. Before Baylor: Attended Canterbury Prep School in New Milford, Conn., during 2005-06 academic year... Played quarterback and free safety, helping team to 6-2 record.
High School: Ridge High School, Basking Ridge, N.J.... Missed senior year of high school football with injury, but still voted team captain... Earned coaches and team Academic Awards as senior... As junior cornerback/wide receiver, helped Red Devils to 11-1 record and 2004 Group 3 state title en route to all-conference honors... Scored Red Devils first touchdown in state championship game played at Giants Stadium... Scholarship award winner... Honor Roll member as senior... Played for coach Tom Falato at Mountain Valley Conference school.
Personal: Son of Mike and Maria Kushneir, Alex M. Kushneir was born Sept. 28, 1987, in New York City... Mother, Maria, is Vice President of Licensing for Perry Ellis... Went on mission trip to Honduras... Majoring in film and digital media.
