2008 (Sophomore): Sat out second season at Baylor and participated on practice squad, redshirted to retain eligibility... Named to Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for fall 2008. 2007 (True Freshman): Appeared in 10 games as true freshman, all on Baylor's special team units... Averaged 8.0 yards on three punt returns with long of 16 yards vs. Texas Tech... Returned nine kickoffs, average of 15.3 yards per return with long of 22 yards vs. Texas Tech... Produced three kickoff returns of 15-plus yards and had one such punt return... Also credited with assisted tackle at Kansas State... Personal: Son of Vann and Gale McElroy, both of whom are Baylor graduates, William Vann McElroy was born Dec. 10, 1987, in Santa Monica, Calif.... Father, Vann, still owns Baylor career record for interceptions and played for NFL's Oakland Raiders (1982-90), making pair of Pro Bowl appearances, and Seattle Seahawks (1990)... Enjoys hunting and fishing... Majoring in business.
