Lone Star native Scott Parr enters his second season as a graduate assistant coach at Baylor and will again tutor the Bears' tight ends after serving three seasons as Abilene Christian University's wide receivers coach. While at Abilene, he was heavily involved with the team's offensive attack. The 2002 Wildcats led the Lone Star Conference in passing offense en route to their first conference title since the 1977 season.

Prior to his ACU tenure, Parr spent two seasons as the running backs coach at Sam Houston State. In 1999, SHSU led the Southland Conference in total offense at 420.9 yards per game. He also earned a master's degree in kinesiology from Sam Houston State.

Parr played on three Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship teams at Hardin-Simmons University. He began his coaching career in 1997 as a student assistant at his alma mater coaching the quarterbacks.

A 1998 Hardin-Simmons graduate, Parr is married to the former Kyla Flippo. His father, Steve Parr, has been a successful Texas high school head football coach for over 20 years and is currently the head coach at Amarillo's Palo Duro High School.
