Eric Schnupp is in his first season as Baylor's assistant offensive line/tight ends coach. He joined the Bears' staff in March 2007 after spending three seasons as offensive line coach at West Texas A&M University. At Baylor, Schnupp is reunited with Bears' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Lee Hays, who joined Morriss' staff in December 2005 after serving in a similar position with the Buffaloes. Following the 2005 season, two of Schnupp's West Texas A&M pupils, Pat McCoy and Dejuan Skinner, earned professional contracts with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles. In three seasons at West Texas A&M, Schnupp helped the Buffaloes to a 23-12 record, including a 21-4 mark over the last two seasons, with a pair of Lone Star Conference titles and two NCAA Division II playoff appearances. Schnupp spent three seasons as offensive line coach at American Series High School in Miami, Fla., before breaking into the college ranks with the Buffaloes. A native of Miami, Fla., Schnupp was a three-year letterwinner along the offensive line for his hometown Miami Hurricanes from 1997 through 1999. He helped coach Butch Davis' teams to a pair of nine-win seasons (1998 and 1999) and victories in the 1998 Micron PC Bowl and the 2000 Gator Bowl. Schnupp graduated from Miami with a bachelor's degree in biology/secondary education in 2000. Following his Hurricane playing career, he spent one season with the XFL's Chicago Enforcers before launching his coaching career.
