Baylor Football vs. Army - 09/23/2006

Former tight end started four seasons on offensive line, totaling 38 career starts... Baylor's first non-special teams player to earn All-America honors since 1995... Earned Bachelor of Science degree in May 2008 following junior season... A first-round NFL Draft projection by numerous sources.
2008 (SENIOR) - Started all 11 games at left tacke on a Baylor offensive line that paved way for 2,349 rushing yards (a 251% increase from 2007's rushing total of 934 yards and the most rushing yards at BU since 1981)... Earned All-America honors from the Football Writers Association of America (1st team), Phil Steele (1st team), the Associated Press (3rd team) and (3rd team), becoming Baylor's first non-special teams player to earn such honors since 1995... A consensus first-team All-Big 12 selection as a senior... Baylor O-line helped generate 29 rushing touchdowns, the third-highest total in school history... Also earned "Mr. Team" and "Off-Season Co-MVP" team awards... Named the Best Lineman in Texas by Dave Campbell's Texas Football publication... Honored at midseason with first-team All-America nod by and honorable mention All-America by CollegeFootballNews/ Preseason All-Big 12 selection (Athlon 2nd team, Lindy's 2nd team, Phil Steele 4th team).
2007 (JUNIOR) - Earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors as a junior offensive tackle from The Associated Press despite being slowed by injury for much of season ... Played and started in seven games at left tackle ... Was a key performer along a Bears' o-line which yielded just 21 sacks, the program's fewest since 1995 ... Sustained a right MCL strain in season-opener at No. 22 TCU which sidelined him for three games, then returned to start at Texas A&M and vs. Colorado ... Reinjured the knee against Colorado and missed two more games (at No. 20 Kansas and vs. No. 19 Texas) ... Returned to starting lineup at Kansas State and started season's final four games ... Shared team's Best Offensive Lineman honor with center J.D. Walton ... Played 436 snaps to earn third Baylor letter ... Took 54 or more snaps five times with a high of 85 against Texas Tech ... Baylor Leadership Academy graduate ... Spring Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll selection had 4.00 grade-point average for term.
2006 (SOPHOMORE) - Moved from tight end to offensive tackle prior to spring practice and went on to start all 12 games of his sophomore season as the Bears' right tackle ... Played every offensive snap in 11 of 12 starts ... Saw action on 789 snaps for the year, most by a Baylor offensive performer in 2006 and third-highest total on the squad overall ... Received second Baylor letter.
2005 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN) - Redshirt freshman tight end played in every game and drew eight starts to earn his first varsity letter ... Had six receptions for 70 yards and one touchdown, an average of 11.7 yards per catch ... Recorded six of the 13 receptions tallied by BU tight ends in 2005 ... Hauled in a 2-yard pass from Shawn Bell at Oklahoma for first career touchdown reception ... Caught a 2-point conversion pass at SMU to tie the score at 14-14 in third quarter ... His 31-yard reception at SMU was a career-long ... Had one catch in six different games ... Played 359 snaps ... Selected Baylor's Most Improved Player.
2004 (TRUE FRESHMAN) - Tabbed MVP of the Bears' offensive scout team in redshirt season.
HIGH SCHOOL - W.T. White High School, Dallas, Texas ... Named to The Dallas Morning News Top 100 Area list (No. 95) ... After earning first-team all-district honors as a sophomore and junior as an offensive tackle, moved to tight end as a senior team captain for the 5-5 Longhorns ... Caught seven passes for 101 yards and one touchdown en route to 2003 all-district honors ... Played in 2004 Coca-Cola High School Football All-Star Game ... Two-time MVP of the Longhorns' offensive line ... Coached by Mike Zuffuto at the District 10-5A school.
