Thomas Arends joined the Baylor staff in January 2017. He serves as associate director for player personnel.
Prior to moving to Baylor, Arends spent two seasons from 2015-16 as director of recruiting operations and high school relations at Oregon. He served as assistant director of player personnel for head coach Mark Helfrich and the Ducks from 2013-14.
He served as a recruiting student assistant under former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly from 2009-12 working with director of player personnel Jim Fisher.
During Arends' time on staff at Oregon, the Ducks had five first round NFL draft picks. The program had 25 players draft overall during his tenure. Oregon played in two national championship games, three Rose Bowls, one Fiesta Bowl and had 11 players earn All-America honors.
A native of Sisters, Oregon, Arends graduated from the University of Oregon in 2012.
