Baylor Football - Meet the Bears 2014



Fourth-year junior, returning All-Big 12 tight end… Huge, athletic, former offensive lineman, battling for starting tight end spot… Named 2015 Preseason All-Big 12 by league media, projected second-team all-conference by Phil Steele... Timed at 4.84 in 40-yard dash… Vertical jump measured at 33.5, broad jump measured at 10 feet even.

2014 (Sophomore): Starting tight end, played all 13 games with six starts for Big 12 Championship squad as sophomore… Earned 2014 All-Big 12 honorable mention by league coaches… Totaled five receptions for 62 yards and one TD on season… Made first career reception and first TD in season-opening win over SMU, had season-high two catches for 21 yards (including 18-yarder) and score… Made first career start in win at Buffalo in third game, had no stats… Made one catch for seven yards in epic 61-58 comeback win over No. 9 TCU in sixth game… Had season-long 29-yard reception in win over No. 9 Kansas State that clinched share of Big 12 championship and berth in New Year’s Six bowl… Caught one pass for five yards in Cotton Bowl vs. No. 7 Michigan State.

2013 (Redshirt Freshman):Played all 13 games as redshirt freshman as reserve offensive lineman, tight end and on special teams… Earned first college letter... Moved from o-line to tight end four games into season… Saw snaps as backup tackle in season’s first three games, totaled seven knockdowns and averaged 83 percent coaches grade… Played final 10 games at tight end, made zero receptions… Top performance on o-line came in win over Buffalo in second game, made four knockdowns and graded 83 percent… Played from scrimmage at TE in seven of final 10 games, used exclusively on special teams in three contests… Made one kick return for 18 yards in Fiesta Bowl vs. No. 15 UCF.

2012 (True Freshman): Sat out first season at Baylor and participated on practice squad, redshirted to retain eligibility... Dressed for one of 13 games, but did not see any game action.

High School: Big lineman from Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas... Played under head coach Kenny Harrison at MHS... Rated 10th-best offensive lineman in state and ranked No. 100 by's Lone Star Recruiting Top 100... National position rankings among offensive linemen: No. 44 by, No. 45 by and No. 77 by Rated 127th-best prospect in state by Ranked No. 84 on's Midlands Top 150... Named to 2011 All-Greater Houston second team by Houston Chronicle following senior season... Helped Memorial to 13-2 record in 2011, named to All-District 21-5A second team... Right tackle on MHS's 9-4 team in 2010 as junior, earned All-District 21-5A first-team honors in first year as starter... Teammate of fellow Baylor signee Terrence Singleton at Memorial.
