John  Williams

John Williams Jr. joined the Baylor staff as the school's director of strength and conditioning in May 2002 and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in August 2006.

Williams, who had worked with more than 15 different sports at the collegiate level during previous stops at North Carolina and Oklahoma State, oversees Baylor's overall strength and conditioning program for its 18 intercollegiate athletic programs and provides day-to-day leadership to the Baylor football program's strength and conditioning plans.

A 1995 graduate of North Carolina A&T, Williams sandwiched two tenures at North Carolina (as a graduate assistant from 1997-99 and as assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2000-02) around a one-year stint as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Oklahoma State (1999-2000).

Williams has trained seven first-round NFL Draft picks and nearly 40 NFL players in his young career.

The native of Greenville, N.C., is married to the former Sherri Taylor of Kinston, N.C., and they have a daughter, Christina Josette.
