Final Stats |  Notes

BAYLOR HEAD COACH Guy Morriss

ON THE LOSS:

"I don't know if it's preparing for the them or just executing on our side.  We were out-athleted, out whooped.  We just didn't get it done, I think that's what the difference was,"

ON DOMINIQUE ZIEGLER PASSES

"We probably didn't run it enough; because, they hadn't stopped it yet.  We didn't run it enough."

ON Shawn Bell

"Any time you lose your starter at quarterback, it a pretty substantial blow, but what do you do?  Take the next best guy and go to war."

BAYLOR OS MAURICE LINGUIST

ON THE LOSS..

"I thought we were going to win the game.  Until the clock ran to zero, I thought we were going to win."

"I was 100% before the game, and I'm 100% now, we just didn't make the plays.  They do a good job on playing sound football. They know what they're doing, all it takes is one guy and a big play."

"We don't have time to feel sorry for ourselves.  We still can accomplish all the things we set-out to accomplish.  We have to roll with the punches, this is football."

BAYLOR QB Shawn Bell

ON THE LOSS

"We definitely thought the whole game, we were going to come back."

ON THE INJURY

"I twisted my knee on that last possession. I have a MRI tomorrow."

BAYLOR WR Dominique Zeigler

ON HIS PASS

"I haven't thrown like that since my high school days.  But I don't know if we had enough time, even if Trent had caught that pass."

ON THE LOSS

"This is the game of football, you don't want to give up on yourself.  That's why we're out here every day struggling through practice everyday."

TEXAS A&M HEAD COACH DENNIS FRANCHIONE

On the fourth quarter:

"We had a good fourth quarter. We got some stops defensively when we needed them. We had some good drives in the fourth quarter. Michael's [Goodson] big run was a big play. We got down there and missed the filed goal and then we got down there and got the field goal."

On Goodson's run:

"When he came around that corner towards our sideline, I never dreamed that he was going to the house with it. You saw the jets that he has and the ability to make those kind of runs. All we tell the back on that play is run where they can't."

Name of the final run:

"55 Smoke Draw."

TEXAS A&M RB JORVORSKIE LANE

On Baylor's defense:

"You can't really say anything about their defense. I mean their defense was great. Their offense was real good. We wanted it more and we scored more points than them. And that was it."

TEXAS A&M OL KIRK ELDER:

On Goodson's run:

"All night long, the structure of Baylor's defense didn't allow us to get in many situations where we could out-man them and get them in a favorable situation for us. But on that play, I think Coach Fran saw something and we just ran it. And everybody believed in each other. That was the best thing about that play. Everyone knew we had to get the first down to kill the game and we just executed it."
