Baylor Head Coach Art Briles

Opening statement...
"It was a tremendous crowd and a tremendous atmosphere--a lot of emotion, a lot of energy and a lot of support. When you're away from home for 30 days like we have been and you get the opportunity to come back home, it's a good feeling. Our guys and our Baylor family took full advantage of it. We're deeply indebted to all the support we've received all year."

On what winning this game means...
"It means if you get great players, great people, great administration and great fan support everything can be a reality. If you stay the course and you stay consistent with what you do day in and day out, you have a chance for success at the end. It's a defining moment for our program and it's one I think we'll be able to repeat many times."

On his expectations...
"As a coach and as a player, you always expect positive results and you always feel that the opportunity is going to be out there if you work hard and stay steady. I had a guy send me a quote a couple weeks ago that was something Michelangelo said, `The problem with people is not that they aim too high and miss; it's that they aim too low and hit." That's the way you have to think and feel and that's what we talk to players about. We're always going to aim high."

On the first half...
"We felt like we were not performing offensively like we needed to and we felt like we were moving the ball, but we just kind of self-destructed. We missed two field goals, but we knew that the defense was playing well enough that we were going to be in the game, it was just going to be a low-scoring game. If we could just spark a little offensively, we felt like we could separate because of the crowd and energy and emotion that come with it. Fortunately that's what happened."

Baylor QB Bryce Petty

On the feeling of this game...
"Words really couldn't describe the way I felt and the way this team has felt. When I was sitting in Coach's office and he was telling me what he wanted this program to be, that's when it hit me. This is what that vision was. To be honest, when you have someone with that much of a vision and determination for things, it's almost like it's too much. But to be in the spot we're at with this team, I couldn't be more proud."

On the emotion after the game...
"I kind of just started crying uncontrollably and I don't really do that much, but it's just been a process and it's the fact that when you put your trust in God and he's faithful, things work out and it's a great feeling."

On waiting...
"I have waited a long time for this. I think some of those fans were crying more than I was and that's what it's all about. It's not just a family in the locker room, it's a family outside. Baylor Nation came through in a big way, not just in this season but in past seasons. There have been rough times, which is what makes being on top here so great."

Baylor S Ahmad Dixon

On watching the first half...
"In a sense, it was tough. Those guys were doing a great job and I almost got flattered by watching them instead of getting out there with them. Those young guys stepped up and everybody stepped up. We gave up some stuff, but this is football--we can't stop a team every time they go out there and snap the ball. This might be the best game we've played as a defense."

On what the game means to him...
"This season has been defined by one of the biggest name callings--being a Big 12 champion. This is one of the greatest things I've ever been a part of in my life."

On the outcome of the game...
"It was like a dream. All the seniors were up there and we were telling each other, `Wow, this really happened.' Nobody's seen it happen before we came here and tonight that dream became a reality. That dream became a reality because of our faith and determination and all of those things."

Baylor DE Chris McAllister

On seeing where the program has come in five years...
"It's crazy right now and it hasn't really set in. I think tomorrow when I wake up and see `Baylor -- 2013 Big 12 Champs' I'm going to believe it, but right now it's crazy. It just shows what you can do with a vision, a dream, and hard work."

On the seniors...
"We had a pre-game meeting and guys were looking around at the group of seniors and I really feel like the team was playing for the seniors today. I was too. I played for Anthony Moore today because this would have been his senior day. We were all playing for each other and that bond is hard to break when you're not playing for yourself."

On the game plan...
"That's always the game plan--to make them have to throw the football. And when they do, you take advantage of it. That's what we tried to do."

Baylor OL Cyril Richardson

On the outcome of the game...
"I was happy that all our hard work finally paid off. I'm so glad that everybody stepped up this game and put the team back to the way we always want it. It just felt good."

On his expecations...
"It was amazing. I never thought that I would be standing up there and doing that. When I came here I thought I would just give it my all and do what I can, but to see everything according to what happened tonight, it's a really good feeling. It's an overwhelming feeling."

On goals for playing tonight...
"For the last couple games, we've had problems. We wanted to get after them this game and show them what the offensive line is about. We're not a bunch of pushovers that you can keep making plays on. We're going to get you tired and roll over you."

Baylor IR Levi Norwood

On what the Big 12 Championship means to him...
"It means a lot. It's something that's never happened before. None of us in the locker room have done it before. It means a lot. It's kind of hard to explain what it means really."

On the emotional aspect of the game...
"It's senior night so it was emotional for seniors and those guys playing their last game on top of it. It's the last game in the stadium so it was emotional for everyone there."

On the second half...
"I think everyone just kind of knew that the Big 12 Championship was right there and we knew that we had to come out and fight for it and that's what we did."

Baylor DB KJ Morton

On his contribution to the game against UT...
"This week I watched a lot of film and I told the seniors that we were going to finish this thing out right, the right way. I was going to do whatever I had to do. I was going to leave nothing less than my best out there. That's what I did, just gave it all I had -- just playing balls to the wall."

Baylor WR Antwan Goodley

On the start of the third quarter...
"Back to old Baylor. Just how we first started the season. I mean losing [Tevin] Reese -- it was going to be a little difficult, but we got it done. I couldn't be more proud of our team right now."

On Glasco Martin and Lache Seastrunk...
"I love watching those guys play. It's thunder and lightning. They can't be stopped."

Baylor RB Lache Seastrunk

On Coach Briles' commitment to the team...
"He weathered the storm. He was here when it was horrible. He weathered the storm, it finally all came together with us. I'm very happy to be a part of this."

On looking back at the season...
"Everything happens for a reason. God does things for a strange reason, but we've got to learn from it. I got hurt. There's nothing I can do about it but learn what God was doing in my life. I'm very happy for what he's doing. We're in the bowl game we're supposed to be in."

Texas Head Coach Mack Brown

Opening statement...
"I'm proud of the way our guys fought. I'm disappointed in the loss, obviously. I told them that I thought they played tough and hard enough, but we didn't make the plays we needed. Halftime it was three to three, and we didn't do that much on offense in the first half but played good defense. We gave them the wind in the third quarter to have it in the fourth quarter. They take two down and scored immediately, we have a holding penalty on the kickoff that backs us up. Then we had a holding penalty near the goal line. They scored both times, and we fought our way back. I thought that with four minutes left we could win, but we muffed the punt fumble and let it go out of bounds when we could've scored. Then we threw the interception that took us out of the ball game. We didn't make the plays that we needed to make. I'm proud of the way we played this year, but disappointed in tonight."

On his offense's performance...
"No (we weren't consistent on offense). We didn't hit any passes. We just weren't consistent on offense at all. It was just an ugly night for us offensively. I'm very disappointed."

On Baylor's last game at Floyd Casey...
"Congratulations to Baylor. They did a great job. The crowd was great tonight. It was a great way to finish and close Floyd Casey Stadium. They've done a good job. I told every kid that I could find congratulations because they sure have deserved it."

On what hurt their defense in the second half...
"I thought (Baylor) made a couple of plays in the third quarter. They got their rhythm going, and we never did. Then, we stopped them the fourth quarter. The wind was such a difficult factor that we had to make a decision at half whether we needed to take it in the third or take it in the fourth. We felt like we could hang with them in the third and take it in the fourth. It just didn't happen."

Texas QB Case McCoy

On tonight's loss...
"It's disappointing. It's disappointing for the seniors who played for this team and the coaches. It's a hard loss to take when it was so close. It was something we fought for and worked for to get to this point. It's just a disappointing feeling."

On the difference of the game... "I thought we fought hard, but we made a lot of mistakes and couldn't get rolling early on. Their offense had the same struggles, but they came out in the second half and got it together but we didn't."

Texas DE Jackson Jeffcoat

On tonight's loss...
"We played with confidence. We played (really hard). Our offense was going slow, but we had faith in our offense. We still do. We still have another game to play."

On Baylor's second half adjustment...
"I'm not sure. You have to give (Baylor) credit. They came in the second half and made adjustments and plays."

On Mack Brown's thoughts after the game...
"He's not proud of the loss, but he's proud of the way we fought. That's all you can do. It shows your character. We're not a team that just gives up and lays down."
