|Head Coach Art Briles|
"We signed an extremely talented class; by far the most talented we have signed in my time here. I think it's reflective of how our 2011 season went. Putting 10 wins up and having won the Heisman trophy, as well as the idea of having a new football stadium, all played a huge part in this year's recruiting class."
On defensive side of the ball:
"We really tried to address the defensive side of the ball this year. We feel like, without question, that we landed some guys that will be All-Americans and play on Sundays."
On Javonte Magee and Brian Nance:
"I think you would have to dust off a few Texas Football Magazines to find somebody as big of a recruit as Magee signing to come on to Baylor. This guy could have gone anywhere in the nation and he chose Baylor. Magee is going to be a dynamic player.
"Brian Nance is a big physical linebacker, who is an impact player and a really good leader."
On getting Texas recruits:
"We are always going to recruit Texas, you don't have to look far to find what you're looking for sometimes. We like what we got because what we have are some good football players who are going to help us toward the goal we have here at Baylor."
On importance of Signing Day:
"It's just as important to us as a coaching staff to find guys that can be developed into the system we have here at Baylor. As coaches, we really pride ourselves in developing players and making them be the best they can be."
On how nerve racking today was:
"We felt really good about this class. All the guys were signed, sealed and delivered by 10:54 a.m. this morning. I think that just shows the trust and the loyalty placed between them and us."
On how Robert Griffin III's decision affected recruiting a quarterback:
"No question it came into play. If Robert had decided to stay in college, we probably would not have taken a quarterback this year. During our camps last year, Seth Russell was a guy, we as a coaching staff, could not take our eyes off of. We kept in contact with Seth since last year, up until today and we are excited about him coming Baylor."
